A Pesach meal of matzoh ball soup. Kofta, tahini sauce, spicy mayo, roasted potatoes and peppers and a sumac dressed salad. Desert is matzoh crack, so addictive. #chemistswhocook
I brought back hand made tortellini from Bologna and made them two ways the first with a fonduta parmesiana and the second in brodo (homemade chicken soup). #chemistswhocook.
Beef with Broccoli is always a favourite. Beef gets velveted with baking soda beforehand to become super tender and this helps also with browning. #chemistswhocook.
Finally! Lemon mango entremet. Thanks to my handsome sous chef SO with whom I could get everything right.
As wisdom says- the first bite is the banquet. Guess who got the first cake piece? #ChemistsWhoCook
Decided this past weekend was time as garden beds 1 & 3 are fully planted–tomatoes, peppers & eggplant in bed 1 and lettuce, fennel, tomatillo, garlic, bok choy & cherry tomatoes in bed 3. Bed 2 still a work in progress. Bok choy is delicious! #chemistswhogarden#chemistswhocook
Tonight was a soy ginger an garlic salmon served with rice, charred broccoli with garlic and avocado. Sunday I bbqed and made souvlaki pita sandwiches with tzatziki and Greek salad #chemistswhocook.
Birthday dinner was pesto (of course) on fresh spaghetti (co-made with my son) and a chocolate cake (made by my daughter and wife). What a lovely way to end the day. #chemistswhocook.
My turn for the wine summit. First attempt at a monster tomahawk ribeye (hope not to eff it up!); roasted potato/bacon salad, veggie salad sides. French wines I’ve been cellaring for…a while. #chemistswhocook
First meal back that I cooked was grilled rib eye steak with a Thai inspired sauce, served with rice, salad with a Thai dressing and steamed broccoli. The clematis is in full bloom and what a beautiful morning to walk th dog on the beach. #chemistswhocook
A Korean grilled salmon. I used the same marinade on the prawns. Served with grilled corn and broccolini. Also the first strawberries of the season are in. #chemistswhocook.
I had a hankering for something umami forward and light, so II made a ground pork and vermicelli Vietnamese salad with lots of herbs and veg. As it is #Purim, time to make a batch of hamantaschen, these filled with apricot and perfumed with cinnamon. #chemistswhocook
I love tacos, especially on Tuesdays 😎. These are my fish tacos, this time including a charred corn and lime salsa to go along with guacamole and shredded lettuce. These sauce is a chipotle crema. #chemistswhocook.
This meal comes together easily with some prep work in the morning. Marinated souvlaki and made tzatziki, and made marinade for lemony potatoes. Then just popped potatoes in oven, grilled zucchini and chicken skewers and make a salad. Delicious Greek meal #chemistswhocook.
