Priti Patel’s “suggestion” to threaten Ireland with food shortages if EU leaders did not relent on their demands for Brexit backstop arrangements, really should’ve been the flashing red flag for us all. Her recent “suggestions” are just variations on this theme.
Can I suggest @metpoliceuk that you issue a full statement explaining your position. It is plain that waiting for the results of an internal investigation to decide whether to investigate does not cut it as an explanation.

There is a culture in Number 10 set from the top. Staff should not be forced to take the blame.
The desperate, incalculable suffering endured by so many thousands like Jan and her husband. *This* is why it matters. The rules were there to try and prevent this. The government wrote them, then ignored them. It's behaviour beyond politics - beyond human decency.
