My theory is Merc asked her to sign a contract to the team, which would have committed her future to the team (not Hamilton). She didn’t want to sign to ‘left’. I struggle to see any other reason.

Welcome to F1. If teams aren’t pushing the boundaries of what’s legal. What’s the point. If the car passes the current tests (which it does) it’s legal. Innovation is what makes F1 what it is and near enough every team has exploited regulations at some point.

The entire DRS flap is rotating under load. You can see at the pivot points, the flap is not aligning with the wing tips.

The flap is backing off at high speed, shedding drag. How is this okay?
