Alrighty, as some of you know, it's highly likely that I have ADHD. And this year I decided to try and get diagnosed (again)! So I'm gonna document my journey in this thread. 1/?
There is still hope for Sylvari in GW3!
But Greibach you say, Sylvari were born only 20-something years before GW2 and this is over 1k years earlier!
Fact 1- There are canonically other Pale Trees that bear Sylvari, we meet one from another tree in the personal story
Fact 2- There have been major calamities in the ensuing 1000 years
Fact 3- Sylvari are one of the most unique races
This tree in the distance definitely could be a sprouting Pale Tree, to be revealed later in teasers!
ArenaNet is doing something pretty unprecedented in the MMO space, imo.
- Seperate teams on GW1, GW2 and GW3.
- GW2 will continue to get yearly expansions after GW3
- GW2 getting reward system that lets you earn cosmetic rewards for GW3
Stark contrast to the Bungie situation
Reasons why you should play Guild Wars 2, the best MMO:
- no sub, free core game, paid DLC (very worth, new features/mechanics, subclasses, content)
- best of action combat/mobility/active defense + classic rotation/skills, so fluid, no other combat like this
- horizontal progression, your end game max level max stat gear you worked for stays relevant (since 10 years ago), but cosmetics, legendaries, QoL items and upgrades, build diversity, mastery skills, new game mechanics, achievements etc, there's still more to "grind* if you wish, everything you do is rewarded and relevant - respects your time and minimum FOMO
- unique classes, quite diff from other games, like the Mesmer or Revenant especially with the subclass (specs)
- flexible builds, flexible playstyle, no strict holy trinity or class bound roles, almost every class and their specs can be built to do a variety of roles, or even theory craft new builds, something to get used to sometimes - such as aggro and tanking can be very different and based on diff things for diff encounters (i.e. positioning or certain stats)
- true open world and multiplayer, beautiful landscapes including verticality, dynamic events, massively 100+ player meta/bosses events or PvP (WvW)
- most amazing mount system in all mmos, not just speed boosts, but real momentum, weight, feel, and skills needed to use them, plus the assortment of skills they bring and a variety of interesting mounts
- years of content, living world episodic releases, expansions, annual mini expansions, it's still ongoing story with tons of beautiful maps. all content (mostly) is still very alive with players doing all content and all maps, everything still relevant, people pursuing achievemenrs, people leveling alts, people going for world events, or people playing at their own paces! you'll always see people, old content is not just left behind! and do you have to do them all? NO, if you don't want to but
- depth of lore is amazing, every single detail and nook and cranny has lore rich delights, even the Snargle Goldclaw smut fictions is fun to find....
- yes we have raids and some are pretty challenging, very mechanic heavy and requires a good group, with challenge modes and more. there's dungeons, fractals, strikes and raids... so pick any level of content you want!
- yes we have housing - actually we have entire maps of our own to customize whether it's guild hall or personal housing maps with full featured place as you want design and decoration system, really epic builds
- yes we have cat girls - full furries or just cat ears (or fox ears or elf ears or...) , we have a lot of fashion wars! shiny, realistic, less clothes, more armor, whatever you wish
- free flow leveling and play, following personal quest is only a tiny portion of the game, wander and participate in tons of events or explore the map,or craft, you'll always be progressing
- Structured arena PvP, casual duel areas, or open world wvw for large scale sieges or roaming and skirmishes, play as you want
- super welcoming kind helpful supportive community, always eager to help, even raid training servers and more, this is not a competitive focused game so naturally everyone stays pretty chill
- tons of resources or even plug ins and add ons to help, highly recommend research, it's a massive historied MMO afterall and all players use the resources out there
- remember they're gonna be actively working on GW2 with overhauls and QoL as they always do and new content even after GW3 launches, each guild wars game having its own character and flavor of gaming!
women have been playing male protagonists for decades without complaint, yet every year we see grown ass men throwing tantrums over women in games. that should tell you everything you need to know about who's truly ruining gaming now
Men being furious about playing as a magical goddess that thickens the story/mythology while happily roleplaying as a half-naked oiled-up rage god for decades is one of gaming’s funniest self-reports.
Women have been playing as men forever and somehow survived. Wild.

YAY!!! Can finally say I've been working on God Of War Laufey @SonySantaMonica and specifically; I animated this lil guy here meeting Faye for the very first time!!!
I've put all my heart and soul into this lil guy, I hope ya'll enjoyed it as much as I did.
In normal universe people would be like: Oh so that's WHY Kratos married her, she whoops ass
but no, we are stuck with typical twitter behavior like
"uegh woman? as my protagonist? not looking like a doll? GoD of WoKe"
