Addressing the Cost of Living and Promoting a Fair Market System! 🇪🇹

Today, we held extensive discussions with relevant stakeholders on immediate and long-term measures to address unjustified price increases in essential commodities and rental housing, with the aim of easing the cost-of-living burden on our residents.

We reaffirmed our commitment to tackling the root causes of excessive price hikes in essential goods, including meat, cooking oil, bread, and bottled water, as well as rising house rents. Ensuring fair pricing, market transparency, and effective regulation remains a key priority.

Protecting our residents from the burden of unjustified price increases and ensuring a fair and accountable market system require decisive action and collective responsibility.

ETHIOPIA KEEPS DELIVERING!

Today, we inaugurated the Arba Minch Conference Resort, another magnificent outcome of our 'Dine for Generation' initiative. This modern resort features state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a conference hall capable of hosting over 1,300 people and a unique floating restaurant on the lake. It will strengthen our vision of making Ethiopia a hub for international forums by expanding conference tourism beyond our capital city, while creating vast employment opportunities for local residents.

I call upon all our citizens, the diaspora, and the international community to visit and experience this new jewel of our nation, and to take part in this new chapter of Ethiopia's tourism and conference sector!

The people of Ethiopia are an extraordinary and remarkable people. Other than the Creator, who can truly know and assess our people in their entirety? Through this year’s election, Ethiopians have once again shown the world that they are a people with a rich culture, deep patriotism, and the ability to safeguard the common good.

On this historic day:

* Citizens who were not intimidated by the cold and darkness of the night,
* Who were not deterred by the midday sun or sudden rain,
* Whom weddings, funerals, childbirth, and other social obligations did not prevent from participating,
* Who were not wearied by long lines,
* Whose physical disabilities did not stop them from casting their vote,
* Those whose illness and old age did not prevent from witnessing the hope of their country,
* Who were not exhausted by carrying their infant children; the future inheritors of the nation,
* And above all, whom the shouting and threats of enemies could not intimidate or stop;

The perseverance you demonstrated amid many challenges and hardships, against all odds, was a contribution made for democracy and for the very survival of the nation. For this, you deserve heartfelt gratitude.

It is a privilege to serve such a people. Therefore, may those who have been elected honor the trust placed in them and serve this people, with integrity and sincerity! A people who have paid a great price for the democratic system. May you be worthy of that responsibility.

This morning, we begin the third 100-day review of government performance for the past year alongside a comprehensive assessment of the past nine months.

We have moved away from an economy once characterized by a weak institutional and political framework that was not conducive to growth, limited private sector participation, and an ineffective regulatory environment. The private sector itself faced low competitiveness, while numerous state-owned enterprises operated inefficiently, burdened by high levels of debt. Productivity remained low, and the economy was highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

In response, we have adopted a new, pragmatic political economy approach. This shift has enabled the achievement of strong, double-digit growth momentum. Currently, the economy is growing at 9.2%, and we expect this to rise to 10.2% in the coming year. Sectorally, we are advancing targeted growth objectives: 7.9% in agriculture, 13.2% in industry, and 9.3% in services. These efforts reflect our commitment to building a more resilient, competitive, and inclusive economy.

▪️አማርኛ ከሴም የቋንቋ ዝርያዎች የተገኘ ነው።በሴም ውስጥ ግዕዝ፣ ትግሬ፣ ትግርኛ፣ አማርኛ፣ አደርኛ፣ ጉራግኛ፣ አርጎብኛ እና ጋፋትኛ ይገኛሉ።

▪️አማርኛ በተናጋሪ ብዛት፣ በቃላት ብልፅግና፣ በስነ-ፅሁፍ፣ ጋዜጣ፣ ፊልም እና በመሳሰሉት የበለፀገ ቋንቋ ነው።

▪️በአፍሪካ ውስጥ ብቻ ከሚነገሩ ቋንቋዎች ከሀውሳና ከስዋሂሊ ቀጥሎ 3ተኛ ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛል።በሴም ቋንቋነቱ ደግሞ ከአረብኛ ቀጥሎ 2ተኛ ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛል።

▪️በዋሽንግተን ዲሲ ከእንግሊዝኛ ቀጥሎ እንደሁለተኛ ቋንቋ የማገልገል ህጋዊ መብት አለው።

▪️በዓለም-አቀፍ እውቅና አግኝተው እንደ አንድ የትምህርት አይነት ከሚሰጡት ውስን ቋንቋዎች አንዱ አማርኛ ነው።
▪️በዓለም አቀፉ ትምህርታዊ ፕሮግራም ከታቀፉት ጥቂት የአፍሪካ ቋንቋዎች በከፍተኛ ደረጃ ከሚሰጡት ቀዳሚው አማርኛ ነው።

▪️ብዙ ዓለም አቀፍ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች አማርኛ ቋንቋን ያስተምራሉ።

▪️በአፍሪካ ብቸኛው የራሱ ፊደል ያለው ቋንቋ አማርኛ ነው።

▪️በአጠቃላይ አማርኛ ከብሔራዊ ቋንቋነት አልፎ ዓለማቀፋዊ ይዘትን ተላብሷል።
