As I read this quote this morning, I found that it saddened me. The idea of a “Union of America” is heartbreaking in these times, because our bloated government of today is merely a battleground between political parties for their own power, and in no way a servant dedicated to our union as a nation of many.

Whatever happened to “E Pluribus Unum?”
