@jason_king72@cricollie Lol, he is all of those things but the only way I take him to Aus is as an opening bat.
I like him, I just don't like him in Aus or the sub-continent test wise.
@Cricketnut4 He was a bowler, not an athlete unfortunately and from a selection ideology that had Craig Overton picked for years ahead of his brother. This new bread are athletes as well. There are a few of the 10 that will faulter as their bodies won't hold up, you know who they are.
@Cricketnut4@CricketRef@adarshisit 3 spinners in packistan and they were still not bowling in time.
Just because NewZealand were poor and England bat fast is no excuse for poor over rates... and 11 overs an hour is a disgrace.
@Cricketnut4@CricketRef@adarshisit All annoying agreed, but just because something else is wrong with the laws/rules/playing regs... and there is lots wrong.
Doesn't mean that persistently failing to bowl overs in a 4 year period and longer is ok.
Address the reg if its unrealistic or bowl the overs as intended.
Agree with you and stokes that the test champ is not relevant..... however bowling 11 overs an hour is a disgrace.
It is clear, they have 6 playing hours to bowl 90 overs and they nearly never manage it.
Totally stand with @benstokes38 on this. The rules of this competition are farcical. All the rewards and penalties are in the wrong place to make the competition valid or interesting 🤷🏏
@thefulltoss Was he though? I didn't see it all and clearly he was most successful; ie most wickets, but that doesn't necessarily mean best. I think 340 plus and NZ will be in box seat... currently evens
@cricket_badger The selection criteria is all wrong/non existant. It's not a player issue but it is an issue.
Too many punts in the dark and denial of the what makes them in the face.
Ie hull, Pope, Lawrence as opener, the last 4 spinners, the wicket keepers.
