STORY OF A WATER COOLER IN A VILLAGE
In our fast-paced modern world, we often take for granted the conveniences & amenities that are readily available to us with just a click of a button. From electricity and clean water flowing 24/7 to access to sanitation and healthcare, many of us are fortunate to have these essentials taken care of without a second thought.
For three years, our library had no water cooler. Summers were especially harsh, and though we managed to get by, the absence of this basic amenity was keenly felt. Yet, in our hour of need, the Pagaria Welfare Foundation once again extended a helping hand. They installed a water cooler in our library—the first of its kind in our village, and indeed, in the surrounding villages as well.

Yet, in our hour of need, the Pagaria Welfare Foundation once again extended a helping hand. They helped us install a water cooler in our library—the first of its kind in our village, and indeed, in the surrounding villages as well.
This simple yet profound addition has brought a wave of joy and relief to our community. To mark this, Library's oldest member, Kalawati, inaugurated the cooler.
The impact of this water cooler has been immediate and widespread. MNREGA workers, who toil under the scorching sun, now have a place to find respite and refreshment. People from nearby villages are also making their way to our library, drawn by the allure of cold, clean water. The cooler has become a focal point of communal interaction.
What might seem like a small thing to some speaks volumes to us. We are deeply grateful to the Pagaria Welfare Foundation for their support. This water cooler is more than just a source of hydration; it brings new energy and relief to our community.

HELP US IN TACKLING THE HEATWAVE AT LIBRARY
Dear Friends of Bansa Library, with temperature soaring up to 51°C, we are all experiencing the harshness of this season, to make situation worse, Bansa village is a victim of extremely frequent power cuts. We depend heavily on e-learning as a model, & without electricity, we can’t even ensure learning. Currently, we have electricity for about six hours a day, often with low voltage issues. The members usually come to the library to escape these systemic issues in the village.
We need your support for two infrastructural additions that Library needs to do to make the space hospitable and functioning.
1. Install Solar panels
2. Install Air coolers
We believe that both these additions to the library will be long-term solutions that make the environment in the library safer, accessible and comfortable for essential growth and learning of the community.

Akash not only prepared for his examination at the Library but he also started volunteering soon after he joined. His evening classes for lower group members were always houseful. He soon became part of our Library Management Committee (LMC) as well.

As the winters fade, we will dearly miss the heartwarming sight of our members reading & sitting together cozily in the library. The image of their camaraderie and shared pursuit of reading will linger in our memories, evoking a sense of warmth long after the chill has subsided.
Our co-founder, Abhishek Vyas, was invited by the Cambridge University Education Society to be a panelist at their event 'Education Careers Beyond Schools'. He spoke about the journey, challenges, and lessons learnt from our Rural Library project
It's a powerful reminder that while some may argue that reading culture is fading, voices like this speak volumes about its vitality. We @FreeLibNetwork & @BansaLibrary advocate for nationwide access to libraries through public library system via a National Library Policy.
