It's been a high stress week as I watched the evacuation warning zone of the SCU fire approach my old home of Livermore and the CZU fire approach my new home in Santa Cruz. I'm so grateful for the friend who has housed me in San Francisco and for the incredible firefighters <3

I'm especially saddened by the loss of the California Condor release site in Big Sur. Although I only spent 6 months working with VWS, the experience directed my career and I care deeply about the recovery efforts of this species. I hope the fledglings have survived.
