Was at the lauch of Durham Uni biodiversity strategy yesterday. @durhamwildlife advised on its development and is looking forward to helping deliver nature recovery across the University estate. Durham is a #NaturePositiveUniversity. How about it @sunderlanduni ? We'll help!
@sedgefred10 @teesbirds1@DurhamBirdClub It is a nice little spot Fred, The Durham Botany Group did a botanical survey and we gave some recommendations to improve the habitat a few years back.
Finch flocks building up at #Waldridge including a flock of 200 Lesser Redpoll in the birches. Also, a Chiffchaff and this very recently arrived flock of 54 Fieldfare on the fell.
A rather depressing few hours at Rainton Meadows NR this afternoon with several dead Mute Swan (presumably bird-flu) and a large amount of sewage in Joe's pond, stinking the area. Mediterranean Gull, Barnacle Goose and 2 Goldeneye tried but sadly didn't cheer me up. @durhamwt
