A Legacy of Leadership | A New Chapter Begins

On 31 Aug 2026, Lt Gen Shamsher Singh Virk, AVSM, SM relinquished command of #ChetakCorps and handed over the baton to Lt Gen Vikrant Suresh Deshpande, AVSM, a highly experienced officer with an illustrious carrer in #IndianArmy.

Lt Gen VS Deshpande exhorted all ranks to continue the relentless efforts towards enhancing operational effectiveness & combat readiness of the Chetak Corps.

Since assuming command on 21 May 2025, Lt Gen Virk led the Corps with distinction, reinforcing operational readiness, jointness and military-civil synergy.

His unwavering commitment to Mission Readiness and the enhancing Happiness Quotient of all ranks, leaves an enduring legacy for every #ChetakWarrior.

The Sapta Shakti Command congratulates Lt Gen Vikrant S Deshpande on assumption of command and extends its best wishes to Lt Gen S S Virk for his future assignment.

Honouring Sacrifice, Strengthening Families

As part of #AWWADay celebrations Mrs Manveet Virk, Zonal President, AWWA, #ChetakCorps felicitated 65 Veer Matas, Veer Naris & War Widows, honouring their immense courage, sacrifice and unwavering resilience.

The series of events conducted from 16 to 24 Aug included Health Check-up Drive, Pension Awareness Session, Felicitation of Veer Naris & Veer Matas, display & Exhibition by AWWA Entrepreneurs’ and Extending Welfare Support to the Veteran Community and Families at #BathindaMilitaryStation.

All the events forged and strengthened the bonds between AWWA and the Veteran Community.

The initiatives while promoting women empowerment, also enhanced the Happiness and Well-Being of the Army families.

A Bike Rally was organised at Fazilka on 15 Aug 2026 to commemorate the 80th Independence Day. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation by 65 bikers.
The event spread the message of patriotism, unity and nationhood among the masses.
The team paid homage to the bravehearts at Asafwala War Memorial, Fazilka, in rememberance of their supreme sacrifice. 🇮🇳

Transforming Warfighting. Enhancing Combat Readiness.

Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra, #ArmyCommander, #SaptaShaktiCommand, visited #BathindaMilitaryStation from 04 to 06 Aug where he had operational discussions with field commanders for a comprehensive review of the prevailing operational environment.

The #ArmyCommander emphasised upon continuous evolution of warfighting skills and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to meet the demands of technology-driven, multi-domain battlefields of the 21st century. He underscored the need for agile, informed and adaptive operational planning, duly incorporating technology, to maintain decisive combat advantage.

Strengthening Civil-Military Synergy

GANDIV DIVISION conducted a Military-Civil Fusion Meet at #KotaMilitaryStation with representatives from the Civil Administration, Rajasthan Police, CISF, NDRF & Civil Aviation.

The interaction focused on enhancing inter-agency coordination, preparedness for emerging security challenges, disaster response, protection of critical infrastructure and the evolving role of drone technologies. The event reaffirmed the collective commitment towards building a resilient and secure ecosystem through close civil-military cooperation and Whole of Nation Approach.

MILITARY CIVIL FUSION (MCF)

Under the aegis of the #ChetakCorps, a Military Civil Fusion-Table Top Exercise 'Sanyukt Shakti' was organised by #BathindaSubArea to ensure consistent integration and close coordination between key stakeholders of Indian Armed Forces, Civil Administration, CAPF and State Police Forces.

The Forum served as a platform for high-level deliberation & an enabler for synchronisation on multiple domains through a 'Scenario based' Table Top Exercise (TTX).
