The rising human-elephant conflict in Palasbari needs urgent attention. Frequent elephant incursions in villages under the Rani, Loharghat & Maliyata Forest Ranges threaten lives, crops and livelihoods.
Hope @jayanta_malla takes this up.

Assam’s Sarthebari Artisans Strengthen India-Bhutan Friendship Through Timeless Craftsmanship
In a remarkable example of how culture connects nations, the skilled artisans of Assam’s Sarthebari continue to play a unique role in strengthening the enduring friendship between India and Bhutan through their centuries-old metalcraft tradition.
Known across the country for its bell metal craftsmanship, Assam’s Sarthebari has become an important cultural bridge between the two neighbouring nations. Artisans in the town handcraft sacred Bhutanese cymbals that are widely used in religious rituals and spiritual ceremonies across Bhutan.
These finely crafted instruments are more than just traditional products. They represent a shared cultural heritage and a deep civilisational bond that has connected the people of India and Bhutan for generations. Each cymbal reflects the dedication, skill and artistry passed down through families of craftsmen who have preserved this unique tradition over centuries.
The continued demand for these handcrafted ritual instruments highlights the trust and cultural respect that exist between the two countries. It also showcases how local artisans from Assam are contributing to international cultural ties while preserving an important part of the region’s heritage.
Beyond strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations, the craft supports livelihoods and helps sustain traditional industries in Assam. It serves as a powerful reminder that local craftsmanship can have a global impact when rooted in quality, authenticity and cultural significance.
As India and Bhutan continue to deepen their partnership, the contribution of Assam’s Sarthebari artisans stands out as a symbol of people-to-people connection built through tradition, respect and shared values.

The most satisfying feeling was being the voice of the voiceless during my tenure in Assam. As Chief of Anti Rhino-Poaching Task Force, together with Assam Forest, we achieved the impossible. Zero poaching for the first time in 2022 after 45 Years!!!!!
BJP MLA Jayanta Mallabaruah taking the oath in Sanskrit was truly good to see. I have always loved the Sanskrit language and hearing it in the Assembly made me happy. I had also studied Sanskrit for two years during my school days.

Assam schools shine above national average in CBSE Class 12 results
Schools in Assam and the Northeast have delivered an impressive performance in the CBSE Class 12 examinations this year, with several states from the region recording pass percentages above the national average.
According to the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 data, the national average pass percentage stood at 85.20 per cent this year. Despite a nationwide decline in overall results, Assam emerged among the better-performing states, recording an 85.66 per cent pass rate.
The Guwahati region, which covers all eight northeastern states, witnessed strong performances from states including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Mizoram. Mizoram reportedly emerged as the top-performing state in the region. Girls also continued to outperform boys across Assam and other northeastern states.
Educational institutions such as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas in Assam recorded exceptionally high pass percentages, reflecting consistent academic excellence and disciplined learning environments.
The results have brought cheer to students, parents and teachers across the state, with many schools celebrating outstanding performances despite stricter digital evaluation methods introduced by CBSE this year. The achievement once again highlights the growing academic potential of Assam and the Northeast on the national stage.

Positive Headline of the Day: Assam Records One of India’s Sharpest Declines in Crime Rates
The latest NCRB Crime in India 2024 report brings encouraging news for Assam. The state has recorded one of the steepest declines in crime cases in the entire country, reflecting the impact of sustained governance, stronger law enforcement, and a collective commitment towards peace and stability.
Assam registered 49,552 crime cases in 2024, compared to 64,959 in 2023 and 68,937 in 2022. This marks an impressive 28% decline in just two years, positioning Assam among the states witnessing the fastest reduction in reported crime across India.
What makes this achievement even more significant is that Assam’s crime rate now stands at 137 per lakh population, far below the national average of 418. This is not merely a statistic, but a reflection of changing ground realities and improved public confidence in governance and policing.
The NCRB report further highlights that Assam’s charge-sheeting rate has improved to 67.1% in 2024, a major jump from below 50% in earlier years. Faster investigation and stronger legal follow-up are crucial indicators of an administration serious about accountability and justice delivery.
For decades, Assam struggled with insurgency, instability, and law-and-order challenges. Today, the state is steadily moving towards a new identity — one focused on peace, development, investment, and opportunity.
I congratulate the team of @assampolice led by DPG Shri @HardiSpeaks on this improvement
This is another testimony of @himantabiswa crime free Assam initiative

My wife’s voter ID still shows wrong address even after 2 correction requests. The same mistake was repeated. YOUR NEGLIGENCE, she has been denied benefits under Assam’s Orunodoi scheme.
Your error has directly deprived us of a government scheme. @ECISVEEP@SpokespersonECI
An extension (campus) of Churachandpur Medical College was opened in Imphal by Manipur's Biren Singh government. At this rate the hill also should get extension of all government infrastructures that are inaccessible by the hills.

CM @himantabiswa today raised serious allegations linking an Assam Congress MP with controversial US businessman George Soros. 🤔 But who exactly is this MP? With three Congress MPs in Assam, the identity remains a BIG question mark! #AssamPolitics#SorosAllegations#BigQuestion
Why is it that till today, #PMModi & N Biren Singh have failed to answer to the people of #Manipur?
It’s a shame that the leadership of this nation refuses to protect its own citizens, says Congress MP Alfred Arthur Kanngam

If Question 13 from this exam paper is real and not fake or morphed, it’s absolutely shameful to include such a question about Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Schools must focus on education, not political agendas.
