Chewy Railworks is pleased to present its first camelback locomotive design, the 4-6-0 "Dromedary". Despite its small size, the Dromedary packs a lot of power thanks to its enlarged firebox.
The CRW-2 is a diesel locomotive designed for hauling freight. Despite the narrow clearance, the gangways along its side do provide a working and walking surface.
@kryppers Here's my two cents, as someone who has built a lot of trains. In my experience, the player spends more time setting up a rail system than actually using it. Building track factories, terraforming for tracks, and building the trains themselves is a substantial time sink. (1)
@kryppers In this way Create is palettable to everyone, but it is also aimless. Is that enough for you? If so, you will have to accept that the average player will ignore content that you poured your blood, sweat, and tears into. (6)
@kryppers Especially with the removal of chromatic compound, there is currently no intrinsic goal to the Create mod. No expensive, overpowered items. No boss to slay. No quests to complete. Create in its current form is simply a medium for players to achieve their own self-imposed goals(5)
@kryppers If any gameplay mechanics are added that champion trains as the easiest solution, players like me will rejoice and the rest will lament. I don't know what the Create team is cooking up next, but my impression is that you're nearing the precipice of Create's endgame. (4)
@kryppers boxes exist in vanilla Minecraft. This is why they go unused by everyone who is not interested in the trains themselves. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the people who don't enjoy trains for their own sake consider building them a chore. (3)
@kryppers Particularly the terraforming part, unless one uses the nether ceiling, which is by far the most un-fun place to build. It takes such a long time that it no longer actually saves any compared to transporting players and/or items by hand, especially when elytras and shulker (2)
I haven't built many 3-wide engines in the past, but they do seem to fit Create 0.5's track scale pretty well. Here's the 0-6-4 Mulard, a multi-purpose engine and the first of Chewy Railwork's narrow gauge line.
Chewy Railworks is proud to present the "Imperator" class locomotive. Based off of the Santa Fe Superchief, the Imperator is designed for high speed luxury passenger travel.
With the release of Create 0.5, I've begun designing trains to be compatible with the new rail system. Here is my first attempt at a steam engine using the new bogies
