@EmilyM32584284 @SarahSt06992073 I like in-person conversations the best, but definitely prefer text over calls. With emojis, it's easier to convey subtleties than before, so my text conversations aren't just info exchanges. They can be personal.

I liked the "impatience with irresolution" quote from the TED talk. This applies to so much more than just teaching math...our society has become more and more fixated on immediate gratification and I feel our patience had decreased significantly. #ed109 #CLT

@EmRenH I hear you! I believe you're referring to the tech distractions (i.e. cell phones) that the students bring in. There are so many benefits to specific programs/apps though, that you could successfully integrate tech in a way that would make sense to your classroom.

@ColinCoulter10 @danielpfinney @jerridkruse There are also benefits to handwriting notes vs. typing them...there have been studies that have shown that the act of writing them out increases understanding of the material.

Besides being comfortable with different types of tech, tech literacy also requires an ever-evolving adaptation to tech upgrades. I used to be tech literate...now, not so much. #ed109
