@KPTrafficDept Today morning ~7am at airport perimeter, 2 traffic police were randomly pulling cars, and clicked pics of license plates to give challans. Such blatant misuse of power should be punishable at the highest order.
What an impression for people landing at Kolkata!!
@Akshat_World I don't think this time it would be same. Apart from Tariff, Trump's other decisions regarding immigration, green card etc. can hurt US long term. US has always been in a good place because of the global talents that flock there. It's reducing now due to Tump's policies.
@HarmlessYardDog If you're in software industry and not updating your skillset regularly, you would be laid off pretty quickly or would have to settle with low rank jobs. Be it AI or some other tool, a software engineer or IT professional should be very robust to changes.
@flowersslop Image generation has very few production use cases. Image understanding though is a whole different ball game altogether. The training and inference costs for 4o is huge. OpenAI can't survive unless they build something actually useful for businesses.
@nikunj@GoogleDeepMind I don't know but Gemini is the only paid LLM subscription I have atm. I cancelled OpenAI when it degraded and there were lots of free alternatives. Gemini is underrated but well integrated with mobile and the whole ecosystem (what copilot is trying to do now)
@TOP1_MAVERICK@Nithin0dha Also, a large number of papers published from India are later retracted due to academic mis conduct, poor quality etc. You can refer to IRW data. Due to the way NIRF is structured, many people are publishing 100+ papers in a year...later most of them are being retracted
@Nithin0dha Agreed. Same goes for Green energy initiatives as well. China has been aggressive about renewable energy for ~15yrs. This would yield results in the next decade. Whereas, India, who is in a much dire state, has no agenda for environmental reforms- absent in all party manifestos.
@ylecun@AIatMeta I just want @AIatMeta to release a text-to-video model next. Their open source models and more over the release blogs/ whitepapers are great resources to read.
@bhash@kunalkamra88 You are a disgrace to the entrepreneur community of India. You are literally in thousands of crores of losses. All services of all your products suck. You don't care or value your customers.
Then you nitpick on others..try to use nationalism as a defence.
Seriously a disgrace!
@KolkataPolice And how do you know, what's the crime scene? If you have evidence, show it to the public. Stop misguiding them. You're sworn to protect the citizen, not to strangle their voices.
@mnwsth If not PhD from outside of India, people altogether leave academia for corporate jobs/ research positions. Many of my brilliant friends of ISI(Indian Statistical Institute) didn't get their stipend for 4-5 months๐, and these are some of the top institutes.
@mnwsth Here's the issue, until there are some parity with not only academic income(whether be it from stipend or other positions), but other jobs with similar background, it's tough to stop good students from leaving. I'm a IISER graduate and almost <1% of my colleagues stayed in India
@theoneamit But why?
Isn't ideally you should look whether a candidate has done any background check on your research and how they might fit in your lab or not.
Why a proper salutation is required?
@sumitkbehal Sorry, but why would they give anyone their salary? They are already providing value to millions by what they know best. They are earning the salary because of the value they're providing.
In my latest blog, I delved into the foundation maths of diffusion models, especially DDPMs, which has been a pioneer in image synthesis tasks

Unraveling Diffusion Models: A Step Beyond GANs in Image Synthesis https://t.co/ROpHpZ1gM3
I'm extensively using the bot...not only to get insights, methods, results from the research paper but also to discuss potential novel ideas brought forward by he research work...Great tool indeed!
