Hon'Ble Mrs.Shanta Chhetri Ex-member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, elected from Trinamool Congress.
She hails from Darjeeling & Kurseong
(She Was 3 Times MLA)
Mr. Sukhendu Sekhar Ray's resignation letter raises more questions than it answers.
For 15 years, you were not an ordinary party worker. You were a Member of Parliament, a senior leader, a trusted insider, and someone who had direct access to Mamata Banerjee and the highest levels of decision-making. If the Trinamool Congress was truly guilty of all the failures you now describe—corruption, breakdown of law and order, failures in health, education, industry, and employment—where was your voice all these years?
Leadership is not about discovering your conscience only after power changes hands. Leadership is about speaking up when it matters most. You enjoyed the position, prestige, influence, and every benefit that came with being a senior leader of the party. Yet there is no mention of your own accountability in the very system you now condemn.
Today, after the people have delivered their verdict, your sudden awakening appears less like courage and more like political convenience. The public is not naïve. Many will see this as an attempt to distance yourself from a sinking ship and secure a place in the new political order. The timing makes it difficult to believe otherwise.
Mamata Banerjee remains one of the most significant political leaders of Bengal. Like every leader, she has strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps one of her greatest weaknesses has been placing trust in individuals who surrounded her with praise rather than honest advice. Genuine leaders speak truth to power; opportunists speak truth only after power is lost.
West Bengal deserves better than politics of convenience. It deserves leaders who stand by their convictions when it is difficult, who accept responsibility for their role in governance, and who do not rewrite history to suit the political winds of the day.
The people of Bengal have spoken. Now is the time not for blame-shifting, but for introspection, accountability, and rebuilding faith in public life. Bengal's future will not be shaped by defectors seeking new opportunities, but by leaders willing to serve the people with honesty, courage, and integrity.

A section of the media is reporting that I have sought Central security cover following the attack on me in Sonarpur on the 30th of last month. This claim is entirely baseless and far from the truth.
I have not sought any security cover in the seven days since the attack. The incident occurred under the watch of both the Central and State governments and they must answer serious questions regarding the circumstances surrounding it.
What is even more disturbing is that over the past month, West Bengal has witnessed numerous incidents of rape and other horrific crimes affecting ordinary citizens, many of which have received little or no attention. The safety and security of the people should be the foremost priority of those entrusted with governance.
I urge both the State and Central security agencies to focus on protecting the citizens of West Bengal rather than allowing misinformation and politically motivated narratives to be amplified through sections of the media.
The people deserve safety, accountability and the truth.
RAPE AFTER RAPE.
ARREST AFTER ARREST.
Is this the reality of @narendramodi's "New India"?
How many more women must suffer before there is a serious, lasting response to this crisis? Why do such horrific crimes continue to rise across @BJP4India-ruled states?
Women deserve safety, dignity and justice.
Not hollow slogans and empty promises.
ABSOLUTE SHAME.

Their shops were demolished.
Their livelihoods were destroyed.
Their voices were ignored.
Today, hawkers around Dum Dum Station are paying the price for a HEARTLESS MODEL OF GOVERNANCE that values bulldozers over rehabilitation and coercion over compassion.
Why must the poorest always bear the burden of such decisions? Why are hardworking Bengalis being pushed to the brink while @SuvenduWB remains obsessed with pleasing @narendramodi & @AmitShah instead of protecting the livelihoods of ordinary people?
WHO WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE SHATTERED LIVELIHOODS?
WHO WILL ANSWER FOR THIS CRUELTY?
THE GLARING SILENCE OF THE MEDIA IS UNBEARABLE!
WHAT EXACTLY IS @BJP4Bengal CELEBRATING?
The objectification of women?
Vulgar displays in political processions?
The complete erosion of the very values they claim to defend?
Every time BJP talks about "Indian culture" or "Nari Shakti" or "Nari Suraksha", #Bengal should remember scenes like these. This is happening in Gopiballavpur, Jhargram. Right under @SuvenduWB's watch.
"Parivartan" is here, BUT AT WHAT COST?
The work of Parliament continues. Joint Parliamentary Committee ( JPC) on the new Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhisthan Bill, in Mumbai listening to the views of a range of HEIs.

“What’s happening to TMC?” My answers- 41 % of Bengal’s votes went to TMC under @MamataOfficial - her anti-BJP stance, her face, her symbol. Today if some self- serving opportunists think they are too smart they should go to BJP asap. Amit Shah is waiting.
Our Hon'ble Chairperson @MamataOfficial visited the Kalighat temple today.
Seeking the blessings of the ever-gracious Maa Kali, she offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of every family.
May Maa Kali bless every home with happiness, good health and harmony.
Our Hon’ble Chairperson @MamataOfficial, accompanied by party leaders, paid solemn tributes to the legendary figures whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our nation and its people.
Moments filled with reverence, gratitude and inspiration...
You can laugh, you can argue, and you can try to justify it.
But look at their faces. Look at their tears. These are people forced onto the streets, pleading for shelter after being evicted under the BJP government’s actions.
If this is what was promised as “change,” then this is the change people are now witnessing.
@BJP4Bengal
Trinamool Congress workers have always stood by Mamata Banerjee, stand by her today, and will continue to stand by her in the future. They are the true strength and spirit of the party.
Those who chose to betray Didi today will ultimately be judged by the people. Their actions only reinforce the perception that they are no different from the BJP. Mamata Banerjee’s greatest strength lies in the unwavering dedication of the party’s grassroots workers and supporters. It is they who will continue to strengthen the organization and carry forward its ideals with conviction and commitment.
