@scottmerkin Coaching staff is a big difference between this team and the last several iterations. Sox have more talent now but you know what they say about a rudderless ship.
@muerdekeroyo I saw him around that time at Cheatham St. Warehouse in San Marcos & was so blown away I saw him the next night at Steamboat in Austin. Got to chat with him before he went on. He was incredibly humble for someone so immensely talented.
No surprise. At 48th in population growth, 46th in private sector job growth, 46th in wage growth, Illinois ranks near bottom by every critical economic indicator. Since 2019, Illinois has lost well over 400,000 residents, most of whom are middle- and upper-income earners.
It’s easy to see why.
Despite $54 billion in total federal COVID aid, Gov. Pritzker poured gasoline on the COVID fire by continuing to raise taxes and fees both during COVID and during COVID recovery, suffocating Illinois economy, while 39 states and every surrounding state lowered taxes.
The National Bureau of Economic Research gave Pritzker’s COVID crisis management an “F,” ranking Illinois 46th among states. Illinois residents now pay the highest combined taxes and fees in the nation as Illinois residents taxed at 52% higher than the national average.
@TripleAJeff Jared Kelly was the Gatorade National Player of the Year coming out of High School. Looked like a steal when he was picked 47th in the draft.
Darnell Wright on his contract extension with the Bears:
"It’s just money. It doesn’t get me into heaven...the only person I want to give thanks to is Jesus."
@79illwill Offense received bulk of team resources making DAs job difficult. If the D can even come close to matching what the Off will do, might have something 🐻⬇️
