To everyone overreacting over this 4 game losing streak, the Cubs lost 10 in a row earlier this year. Look at them now. Also 3 of those losses came to the hottest team in baseball right now by far. If we played those 6 games against Boston in May/June, we prob take 4 or 5.

Brazoban: A
Doyle: D+
Bart: B+

Overall: B+

This was not the year for Getz to try to make a big splash at the deadline. However, I think the Chicago White Sox are in position to compete in October.

@miguel_terenzo There is a gaping hole at the catcher position right now, and Bart is going to at least give us some stability at the plate. As for Doyle, he’s a fine player but I think Mason Adams had a chance to really contribute out of the bullpen.

Before you hate, go look at Sean Burke’s last 8 games. He is an elite pitcher with elite stuff.

Pros and Cons of Luis Castillo for the White Sox:

Pros:
- Playoff Experience
- Another year of control
- If he can find his elite form, him and Burke will be a dangerous 1-2 punch

Cons:
- 33 years old
- Best ball might be behind him
- Having the worst year of his career by far

My thoughts on what the White Sox had to give up for Luis Castillo:

- Losing Seranthony is a non factor
- Nolan Jones who cares
- Boston Smith is the main attraction in the return for the Mariners and I think he can be a solid MLB player, but the Sox could afford to give him up
