RECAP:
On the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs hosted a presidential diaspora engagement forum that brought together various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The MDAs shared key national priorities and outlined ongoing projects in Kenya, highlighting how Kenyans in the diaspora can tap into these opportunities and contribute to national development.

On affordable housing, Principal Secretary for Housing and Urban Development, Mr. @PSCharlesHinga, outlined the Government's projects in housing, markets and other infrastructure development. He elaborated on the expansion of access to affordable housing and how the diaspora can benefit from these initiatives. PS Hinga further encouraged Kenyans abroad to invest in affordable housing and took them through the registration process.

On universal healthcare, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. @psmuthoni , led discussions on strengthening healthcare delivery and the Social Health Authority (SHA). Dr. Mercy Mwangangi provided further insights into the Government's healthcare initiatives.

At the same time, @InvestKenya_ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. John Mwendwa, presented Kenya's investment opportunities to members of the Kenyan diaspora in the United States. The CEO reaffirmed that Invest Kenya will work closely with @Diaspora_KE to convert the interest expressed into concrete investments across various sectors of Kenya's economy.

The @IEBCKenya Vice Chairperson, Ms. Fahima Abdallah, used the opportunity to share insights of what tye electoral body is doing to ensure Kenyans abroad are not left out of Kenya's democratic processes.

The forum reaffirmed the whole-of -Government's commitment to working closely with Kenyans abroad to advance inclusive growth and national progress. #DiasporaFirst
