Newsflash: Start doing it in a small way now, or you will not do it when you get there. Those actions will encourage you to do more. True philanthropy and charity are a journey and not a destination.
The video with @schoolofhardknocks is out and it’s gone viral. None of it was planned. I invited James to the Aruwa office to meet him and learn how he’s built his business. We took a picture, he left but then: he came back and wanted to film. Tomorrow morning.
When you are trapped in a poor society, your potential doesn't mean anything to your survival. It means an incredibly brilliant mind might spend their entire life working in informal labour simply because there was no path to capital.
If you take a risk and fail, your family might not eat. It means that the few who do manage to develop their potential often have no choice but to leave their home country to find opportunities elsewhere. This robs the society of the very people who could help lift it up.
The few opportunities that do exist are locked behind nepotism, corruption, or elite gatekeeping. It becomes about who you know, not what you can do.
The truth is that human genius is distributed across the globe, but opportunity is not.
My favorite line from Atomic Habits has been living in my head rent-free:
“It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
THIS!!! People are seeing the handwriting on the wall and getting out of tech. Next exit, and I am facing the family brick-and-mortar business. No more delusions.
🚨 Anthropic just showed a 24-minute workshop on how to actually do prompts for Claude.
Taught by the people who built it.
Free. No registration. No paywall.
I've seen $300 courses that don't cover what they teach in the first 8 minutes.
