It made me reflect: sometimes, the mercy we refuse to show is the very mercy we’ll soon need.

Today, I witnessed a lesson on mercy.

A woman in the bus missed her stop and asked the driver to let her alight at the next bus stop since she had already paid. Instead of showing mercy over the small difference in fare, the driver shouted at her and forced her to get down

immediately. As she left, she simply said, “God will judge you.”

Not long after, the same driver was stopped by agberos. He pleaded to pay later, but they refused and insisted on immediate payment. Moments later, he was stopped again by Road Safety officers for not having his
