@EeZeEpEe@WiLL_Succeed@CodifyBaseball Took all of one day for there to be a 22 run differential flip of those two teams. +10 to the Rays and -12 for the braves…
@The_Acumen@Jani__Gee You do know that the mortgage would be less than the rent of a 5 bedroom place? Living in a 5 bedroom place for $1,000 a month vs a 2 bedroom for $3,000 is a great benefit to her. Both are taking on risk, and formalizing expectations in a written lease would help them both.
@carson_tk This period included the entire hall of fame career of Drew Brees with the saints, including a Super Bowl but that is “meh”?
Saints had a better record last 25 years than your decent Vikings, and same record as the good broncos who also have 1 SB.
Clear bias.
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan Because this has been a pattern of the rays of dumping any good players that have a modicum of cost involved. Jason Adams, Arozarena, Snell, and Paredes were just salary dumps. We couldn’t retain Fairbanks and now have a hole at closer?
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan Over 750 games he has nearly 18 war.
When he plays, he plays at a high level. He played 130 games last season.
I do not understand why so many people are so set on understating the value of a good second baseman.
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan Also, his defense cratered last year, clearly, but that doesn’t mean he has always been horrible. He was average to below average.
Injuries played a part of much of this, and that’s with Yandy being such a liability that he DHs
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan False claims? I gave his defensive stats for this year that you asked, and you deflected.
He was the worst defensive second baseman arguably last year (never denied that) but managed 30 hr 80 rbi. You just don’t get that at second base.
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan A 4 WAR second baseman per season average player is a very good player, and great for the talent of the Rays. You’re strawmanning a superstar argument upon me. Averaging his defense and offense, he had been very good. His career 124 OPS+ speaks to his value.
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan You moved the goal post. OP is about this season. Your 3rd question strongly implies this season.
Yes Brandon Lowe was very and defensively last season, but career, he has been a mid defender. Offensively, he was a top 5 second baseman.
@lukeholman102@TorturedRaysFan He is a positive OAA and Rdrs of 2 so far this season on defense. Positive 1 run value.
What really sucks about losing BLowe is the unique contribution he is, a power hitting second baseman. Ben Williamson and Palacios are far cries from that.
@benwhitelaw73 Which relievers are showing the best stuff so far?
PS, I don’t think the sky is falling about the bullpen, just curious at who is looking sharp so far.
@harrywittine@TayVictoria8 Kelly had a horrible year, but don’t throw Fairbanks and Jax into his company of bad.
Cleavinger and Seymour were very solid last season, and both imploding yesterday seemed fluky.
@harrywittine@TayVictoria8 World Series winning dodgers had 27 blown saves last season and the Rays had 29.
Fairbanks was 7th in save percentage last season and only had 5 blown saves. That was not atrocious.
Jax had one blown save and was 117 ERA+, not atrocious.
