Book 52 - The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko
What better way to end it than with an interesting book on simple but effective financial practices adopted by the millionaire class in order to accumulate and sustain their wealth.
The book consists of 4 main parts - Essence, Explore, Eliminate and Execute, each of which explain how to embody what it truly means to be an essentialist, cut out all the noise and accomplish the things that actually matter.
Book 51 - Essentialism by Greg Mckeown
A friend of mine @bcorji recommended this book for me, and to be honest it's the first book I've read in a while that rivals Deep work by Cal Newport in practical effectiveness.
Book 50 - The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel
This book explains that getting rich isnโt just about skill, itโs about behavior.
The smartest people still fail if they canโt control emotions, and the average person can win with patience and discipline.
Some ideas I got from the book:
โข Wealth is what you donโt see โ the money you save, not the lifestyle you show.
โข Luck and risk shape every financial outcome.
โข Long-term investing beats trying to be a genius.
โข Your financial success depends on your habits, not your income.
Book 49 - Open Society: Implications for Terrorism in Nigeria by Michael Okafor
The book offers a timely examination of how democratic openness, free movement, and information flow can both strengthen a nation and expose it to extremist threats.
It also highlights the tension between protecting civil liberties and ensuring national security, urging policymakers to rethink how an open society can remain resilient in the face of evolving terrorism risks.
