Sammy Davis Jr. was only 7 years old here.

Seven. And he already owned the stage.

This was 1933, in Rufus Jones for President, Sammy's first appearance on film, performing alongside the legendary Ethel Waters.

He'd already been performing with his father and Will Mastin, and even at seven, the timing, confidence and stage presence were already there.

Sammy would become one of the great all-around entertainers of his generation — singer, dancer, actor, comedian and eventually a member of the Rat Pack.

But here, none of that had happened yet.
