The fentanyl crisis is getting worse.

In a 13-day timespan this month, we have responded to four deaths, including a toddler, caused by confirmed fentanyl overdoses. We have also responded to several other suspected fentanyl deaths, and 17 nonfatal overdoses.

Fentanyl is 50 times stronger than heroin. Fake Oxycodone pills, including rainbow colored that target youth, have been seized nationally and in Illinois.

"Rainbow" fentanyl, a colorful version of fentanyl, has recently emerged in the illicit drug market. Rainbow colored pills have been seen in multiple states. Children are more susceptible to overdose. Look for these signs and symptoms if you suspect someone is overdosing
