English Avenue at West 13th Street is currently shut down due to a large tree across the roadway.
Crews are on scene and actively working to remove the tree and reopen the road as quickly as possible.
Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Use Caution this morning at the intersection of North Highway 27 and Lafayette Road as GDOT Replaces a damaged red light caused by last night's storms.
Please use caution when traveling this evening and tonight. Roads will begin to refreeze and ice will form from all the compacted snow.
If you don't need to be out please stay home.

Lee and Gordon Mill Road at Crittenden Ave heading towards US Highway 27 will be closed for utility work for the next few hours. Please use caution when in the area and follow the detour.
If you have to travel this morning be mindful of debris that is in the roadway and the crews that are out removing it.

With the chance of Sever Storms this evening, Walker County Emergency Management will open a shelter at 3:00 p.m. today at Saddle Ridge School (9858 N. Highway 27, Rock Spring) for those in need of a safe place to stay. Those planning to shelter here should bring own supplies.
