@hannahdove1231 I thought this was a good way to show that people without handicaps assume that people with handicaps sit around and wallow in self pity instead of going about their lives like everyone else. #femfilm18
When Tom and Barry were bathing there was a sense of voyeurism as Mulvey described it because the boys didn’t realize they were being watched and yet, as an audience member you are still curious to watch and see how they function in normal tasks together. #femfilm18
@FilmAba I am curious about this too. Especially because they have such different personalities and temperaments. Maybe mental health wasn’t mentioned because they wanted to focus solely on the effects of the physical handicap #femfilm18
Like Laura, I initially thought Tom and Barry were being exploited but then I realized it was wrong of me to assume they could only play the role of a victim #femfilm18
Why do you think Violet felt comfortable shooting Caesar when the whole point of her leaving was to get away from being around the violence of the mafia? #femfilm18
In class we always talk about the man’s fear of castration. I think it was symbolic that Caesar threatened to shoot Johnnie’s Dick off, of all things. #femfilm18
In class we talked about how the woman is often seen as just a symbol and in herself is nothing. The men in the mafia all only see violet as a sex symbol. #femfilm18
@sfemfilmtweets They knew she was interested in weaponizing the women's army, and thought she had the power to do so, but Idk why they thought getting rid of her would discourage the army from moving forward. If anything the government should have realized they would push back harder. #femfilm18
That’s pretty crazy that Isabelle says the fight will not end in terrorism and then the audience sees one of the twin towers blow up by the hand of the women’s army. #FemFilm18#borninflames
