Nigeria's Chidi Okezie did not progress to the semifinals of men's 400m. Okezie finished 5th in the 2nd heat of the Repechage round, clocking a time of 45.92s.

He will have some days to recover, and will return to play a crucial role in Nigeria's men's 4x400m team.
