I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Movie # 34: The Mighty Ducks (1992)
The kids love this one. I couldn’t sit and watch the whole thing because I got stuck on the ottoman and it hurt my back 😅 but it was a fitting movie as 3/4 of our kids are in hockey now 😮💨
My partner and I started a new thing with the kids! It’s a movie night jar with the names of all kinds of movies in there (mostly classics and our favourites that we want them to learn about- but also some none of us have even seen) and they’ll take turns picking titles from it!
Movie # 33: 101 Dalmatians (1996)
We haven’t picked a movie in over a year, and this movie night was much needed ❤️
Our oldest says “it was a really good movie until Ludo kept barking” (most of the movie was dogs barking and he wouldn’t stop lol)
At least 10 First Nations people have been killed by the police or died in police custody in the last 3 months. One of them was a 15 yr old boy, Hos Lightning, who had called 911 for help. He was shot and killed by the RCMP. This is a national crisis.
When will @JustinTrudeau@viraniarif@PattyHajdu@liberal_party act?
Lately this image has been in my head. Ive dreamt of it and sketched it in my notes during meetings where we speak about the collective and our intentions as we move forward as a community.
I feel like it’s about walking between two worlds: past and future; physical and spirit; political and ceremonial; community and family. I can hear the shaker in my dreams. And I feel like I know Nanabush well, but haven’t communed with them in my dreams in a long time.
I felt emotional when this happened because it made the space feel safe and like we were being uplifted through this process.
I am so grateful for the work we are doing together.
Yesterday we birthed and bathed eagle feathers together as a council ✨
The act of caring for these feathers comes from the intention of uplifting our community.
Chi miigwech to James for offering teachings and stories today. And chi miigwech to all the men in the room who assembled and cleared space in such a lovely way, so us women could bathe the feathers in cedar water.
A casket carrying the late Murray Sinclair left for a cemetery today in a hearse pulled by a Harley Davidson. The hearse had flashing purple lights and a Harley skull emblem inside. Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd played. "Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!" #cdnpoli
