How do you stop X from filling your feed with murders, death and sexual content?
It’s like rotten.dom from back in the day.
I’m ready to delete this trash.
The algorithm is beyond fucked.
It’s sickening and a mental heath issue to anyone subjected to it.
@D3lMundos are still holding strong and trading well above the latest hyped drops that have unique dynamics, gamification and diminishing supply.
Just unique hand made art.
Yet few are giving them attention…
@CopingMeKenIsm@AdamWeitsman@normiesART@lphaCentauriKid@serc1n That’s the thing I guess, I have zero attraction to a simple B&W pixel artwork - even if my design. Eye of the beholder and all that, just doesn’t land with me. I’m sure there’s a Rick Rubin quote I can use ha ha.
on believing in something.
today was one of the most surreal and humbling days of my life as an artist.
today with transient labs help i deployed all of the onchain mechanics for death & taxes. i spent the day watching the project come alive. taxes being paid, citizens being audited, players being eliminated. the mechanics worked exactly as intended. amidst all this, "homer" was collected for a 5.19 eth collection ath by @AdamWeitsman. tbh i think initially it was mostly about the art, which i appreciate tremendously, but ive since learned he really understands the vision.
beyond the volume and the activity, what actually moved me was seeing hundreds of people genuinely enjoying this experience because of the art. hunting for things they love. sharing with friends. people actually having fun in nfts. imagine that.
all of these things made me reflect on a few questions - and reinforced everything I believe to be true about onchain art. so i wanted to share although I know no one reads.
> if this is fundamentally a game of strategy, why does the art even matter?
because the art is the soul of the system. if this were just a spreadsheet of wallets, no one would feel anything. the visual identity of the citizens is what makes people care. acquiring homer, or a skull or a clown or james brown or tired keanu isn’t just a strategic move, it is an emotional one. the art is the anchor that makes the cold mechanics mean something.
> could an experience like this exist offchain?
nope.
i don't believe so. if i built this on a centralized server, you would have to trust me. you would have to trust that the rules were fair and the stakes were real. the blockchain removes that barrier entirely. the infrastructure provided by this technology acts as an impartial physical law. the permanence of the ledger gives every action real weight.
> what happens when you wrap a game in a community with verifiable ownership and real consequences?
you get something that transcends a traditional game. when a player audits a neighbor, it is not a simulated event on a private server. it is an immutable transaction that lives forever. giving the community tools backed by smart contracts turns passive observers into deeply invested participants in a shared, permanent narrative.
> why will no one ever sway my belief in onchain art?
because today i watched a community breathe life into a concept that is only possible through this technology. without blockchains, digital art is passive. building this onchian fundamentally changes the medium. through a funny little pixelated character - it allows us to attach absolute provenance, real stakes, and community driven consequences to a digital canvas. the technology is an active participant in the art itself. bananas. impossible. other than here. right now.
so.
to everyone who minted, to mr weitsman for seeing something special in homer, gpebbles, Thor, conviction, shiny rocks, and others for minting 100s of citizens, to anyone who shared, supported and to everyone engaging with this system today: thank you. you took an idea from my head and turned it into a living reality that feels like it might carve out a little spot in a chapter of cryptoart history. i have never been more grateful.
back to work.

@dept_of_death Citizen 3077 here.
Formaly requesting a pass this audit.
It appears 3302 has a grudge against my impeccable vibes.
Payday is coming…
Sincerely, 3077
Whales strategizing on winning Death & Taxes starting to realize the floor is cheaper than taxes will be soon…
+ power in numbers.
This is going to get very interesting.
Will whales target whales or target the floor to minimize opposition building an army?
Support those who are creating unique art.
I love clean but I also love color, so I’m stoked to add this fucking rockstar of a Citizen.
So many could be album covers.
Insured of course.
This collection fucks hard so stop wasting ETH on regurgitated nonsense.
@m0dest___
Death & Taxes - Citizens is only the second NFT collection to get my attention in 2026 (other is @D3lMundos).
I missed the mint unfortunately.
Watching great art crash is painful but hoping to finally grab one soon.
If you’re gunna weth one let me know.
@reesistancee I’m still a bit confused by these…
It feels a bit extractive (yes, I know it goes back to buying $VIBESTR) rather than purposeful?
I get that it’s a low entry for a badge but we already have that with $VIBESTR entry badges.
Is it just a degen lottery ticket?
Burning unique art isn’t a cool dynamic.
It suggests some of the collection isn’t worthy enough.
Burning to alter an existing asset? Suggests the art wasn’t complete to start with (hence many are horrendous if we are honest about it).
Art first. Please.
@CopingMeKenIsm I’m all for the concept.
But there’s a financial component to it. And many are barely recognizable as a person. The cost is high and the results mediocre imo.
Each to their own if some feel it’s a flex.
