This week, we joined other agencies to pay tribute to @OaklandFireCA's Assistant Chief, Sean Laffan, during an emotional procession from Oakland to #Sacramento. Laffan, who lived in Sacramento, started his career with #OaklandFire in 2000. He died of a heart attack last week.

This early morning fire on the 2100 Block at Evergreen St. took over an hour for firefighters to contain. No injuries occurred. The old @RideSacRT building had been empty and was known by SFD as a dangerous structure. A defensive operation was successful & Investigation underway.

After a massive commercial fire, we returned to the site to talk to the business owners in the area.

UPDATE** The fire on La Grande Blvd reached 5 Alarms and had 200 personnel on scene . Mutual aid was provided by @metrofirepio @CosumnesFire @sacsheriff and @WestSacFire . 4 firefighters suffered minor injuries
