On Friday, a 16-year-old in Yakima, Washington was "messing around" with a gun when it fired, striking the teen's 13-year-old brother in the torso. The 16-year-old has been arrested. The 13-year-old was hospitalized. His condition is not known.

A 14yo Memphis teen was unintentionally shot by a younger sibling on Saturday. An adult has been arrested in connection to the shooting. He was charged with 3 counts of child neglect, & one count of aggravated child abuse. No other details were given .

On Friday, a 15yo in TX was shot to death when his 17yo friend unintentionally discharged a gun. The two boys and other teens were at an apartment. The 17yo was playing with the gun when it fired. It's not known how the teens got access to a gun.

Where the shootings happen: When it comes to kids gaining access to unsecured guns and pulling the trigger, some states have more incidents than others.

Here are numbers from the first six months of 2019. Tennessee (15) and Texas (14) have seen the most.

Last Friday in Oklahoma, an 8-year-old boy shot his 8-year-old twin in the hand with a gun that was left accessible to the children. The parents were home at the time. No charges are expected.
