Childe seemed to think for a moment. Did he want to inquire more? There was a strange part of him that wanted to.
“Where did you decide to settle?” He asked, his head tilting a bit as he asked. “And can I ask where you’re originally from? If you don’t want to- that’s fine too.”
"Obviously." He answered in a semi-annoyed tone, followed by a soft sigh.
"I only recently settled somewhere... but I still prefer wandering over staying in one place." He gave a serious answer, finding no reason to lie about that.
“Wanderer? Interesting.” He said. “Do you…wander around?” He said half seriously. He was curious, but it was a pun in itself too.
“That’s a partial serious question I promise.”
He rolled his eyes once more before finally looking at Childe properly.
"Fine. You may call me Wanderer." It was the only title Childe would get.. at least for now until more was earned.
“Because I asked you nicely. Please, kind sir, would you offer me your name so I don’t have to call you mister mysterious?” He said with a grin, being a bit dramatic, but he was well meaning.
“Surely just a name would suffice, even a nickname! It can’t be that hard.”
"And what makes you think you deserve to know who I am, hmm?"
Clearly, he wasn't going to just roll over and offer his name to a man who was meant to forget he ever existed... no. Childe would have to earn that.
If he persisted, then maybe a name would be offered.
“No no, I know what I saw. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have commented on it.” He hummed, not letting this Wanderer fully get away with it.
“But if you don’t want to tell me, that’s fine. I still want to know who you are, though.” He said, now not really focusing on the breathing.
The immediate response was an annoyed click of his tongue followed by a roll of his eyes and a sigh.
"You're mistaken. I was breathing normally the entire time — your eyes must be playing tricks on you." He countered, not willing to admit anything to Childe.
"Now stop staring."
became sad, “I don’t know.” A half hearted laugh left his lips and he looked down at the tea. “Human isn’t exactly what I’d call myself. But thanks.” He settled on.
his nerves further.
Childe couldn’t fully look Pantalone in the eyes even as he was chuckling about the small comment. Until he heard the quieter commemt. His ocean hues glanced up at the other and stared for moment.
“I’d say thank you, I just,” his expression almost +
A mixed expression of confusion and a tinge of doubt showed up in his eyes, a bit taken aback by the way Pantalone stayed there even as his killer instincts almost consumed his body due to being woken up. He very carefully took the cup of tea, taking a sip, the warmth calming +
His features twisted up into something resembling both confusion, and curiosity, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“Are you? You just went from barely breathing, to now seeming just fine. Just who are you?” He asked.
Although his mind may not remember, he could not shake +
As soon as Childe spoke, he began the process of at least emulating breathing. The sudden breathing was likely more odd than him continuing not to... oh well, it was too late now.
"I'm fine." He answered curtly, not bothering to look at the other.
“Sorry.” He mumbled quietly, unsure how he felt being seen in such a vulnerable state. Despite this, he didn’t move Pantalone’s hand. “I’ll be careful not to disturb your work.” He said, the words falling from his lips in an automatic response.
Whispers from the abyss plagued the Ginger’s mind, seeing flashes of disfigured figures, bodies from his fits of slaughter, and overall lots of gore and darkness. It caused his body to squirm, and him making noises closer to a muffled shout.
That was when he felt tender +
fingers cross his cheeks, causing him to gasp, eyes shot open and stared at the person touching him. At first his features were strangely void of emotion, like he was about to strike like a snake, then he gradually relaxed and let his body slump more against the couch, sighing. +
Childe noticed, seeing that the person next to him didn’t have a breath, nor did his chest rise and fall. Concern spread across his features and he looked towards…the vaguely familiar stranger.
“Are you…alright there? It looks like you aren’t breathing-“ He chuckled nervously
Forgetting to breathe again around normal humans — they're starting to whisper amongst themselves about the oddity.
He didn't care — was too zoned out to care...
