Mink in your garden, or have you spotted them nearby? An invasive species, they are intelligent and adaptable predators which can cause problems for some of our native and migrant bird populations, as well as other small mammals. Please tweet @south_staffs with any sightings!

If you've spotted any American Mink in South Staffs please let us know as we are keen to understand the distribution of mink in the area. Since the 50's & 60's they have spread across Great Britain, having a devastating effect on our native population of sea birds & water voles

@south_staffs There have been mink at Chillington for more than 20 years, we suspect coming in from the Penk. We cull about 6-8 each year in order to protect the vulnerable bird species that choose to nest and raise young here, but we have recently spotted fresh mink tracks near the Pool. 🐾
