On 20 February 1939, thousands of Nazi supporters rallied in New York City, waving German flags and Nazi symbols, and cheering Nazi speakers, as a Nazi genocide raged in Europe.
On 31 May 2026, thousands of Zionist supporters rallied in New York City, waving Israeli flags and Zionist symbols, and cheering Zionist speakers, as a Zionist genocide rages in Palestine.
If you can condemn the former, but not the latter, it’s time to consider your own racist complicity in the Holocaust of our time.
My op-ed "The Davos Man, and the end of an illusion", @timesofindia
Apologies to PM Carney, whom I personally admire and who is brave enough to acknowledge the illusion and hopefully will carry on with the new direction. Hopefully those Western leaders applauding his speech will do likewise.
In the Wretched of The Earth, Fanon has a French patient who can’t sleep because he tortured someone he knew was innocent

In 1955, segregation was the major social issue facing African American Christians, and back then, you didn't have to ask, "where is the leadership of the Black Church on this issue"?
They were out in the front, leading.
Violence against Christians in Northern Nigeria, is a major social issue for Nigerian Christians.
Where is Nigerian Church leadership on this issue? All over the place. Are they "out in the front, leading"? Most of them are not.

If the topic is changed to say, "should churches be taxed"? Then you'll know that Nigerian church leaders can speak with one voice, on a pressing issue.

Gotcha 2: this starving person clearly has a pre-existing condition. Not real starvation!
(This one makes me crazy)
Why it’s BS: People with complicating ailments are always more susceptible to earlier starvation.
This is a SIGN of famine onset, not a rebuttal of it.
