Tashi Badan (扎西巴单) is a young entrepreneur and the founder of Yakhore #Design Company in #Lhasa, SW #China's #Xizang Autonomous Region. He has led his team to develop a variety of #Tibetan #culture-themed products, helping local #artists reach a wider audience.

Duan Aisong (段爱松) is a top #Chinese author. He’s won numerous prestigious prizes incl. the #China Literature Good #Book Award & the Bing Xin Prose Award. His latest book The Shining Stars (���亮的星河) follows the Dulong ethnic minority as they battle to escape poverty.

Lu Min (陆敏) was born in a family of lantern makers, dating back to his great-grandfather. He’s been a key figure in making the Qinhuai #Lantern Festival (秦淮灯会) a grand celebration, & was named a provincial-level inheritor of the event in 2020. Here, he eyes a lotus lantern.

Gou Huan (苟欢) is a 5th-generation inheritor of the intangible cultural #heritage of traditional #Chinese storytelling. Gou works in Zhaohua ancient town (昭化古城), delivering #storytelling performances and helping to keep this ancient #art alive.

She Yuran (佘予然), who studied historical #European martial arts at college, is the co-founder of the #Shanghai Historical Martial Arts club. At SHMA, he offers systematic training in both #Chinese and European #martialarts, bridging East and West through the art of war.

Oyunjargal (乌云吉日嘎拉, R) is a horsehead #fiddle player and a Khoomei (a traditional #Mongolian singing art) performer, traveling with the Ulan Muqir #art troupe across #InnerMongolia for 13 years. Such troupes have provided cultural shows to remote herdsmen since the 1950s.

Slanbek Sahishi (斯兰别克·沙合什) is a #master craftsman of ancient #Kazakh fur skis. Based in #Altay, NW #China’s #Xinjiang, he makes every pair of #skis by hand the old-fashioned way, applying #horse hair that is slick when traveling downhill but grips when climbing uphill.

Duan Yinmei (段银妹) is an inheritor of the tie-dye technique of the #Bai ethnic group, which dates back 1,000+ years and was recognized as #China's national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. In her #village of Zhoucheng (��城村), 200+ households work in the #tiedye trade.

Zhang Hang (张航) is a cultural inheritor of the #Kunming Wamao-making technique. Wamao (瓦猫) are #cat-shaped #pottery artifacts believed to drive off evil spirits and bring #peace to the home. Zhang even founded a Wamao #museum, offering exhibitions, workshops & cultural tours.

Tawa Tsering (達瓦次仁) is a #musician and member of the band Kardag Garbo, which is made up entirely of blind performers. He plays the flute and the yangqin (扬琴, #Chinese dulcimer) in the band, as they travel throughout #Xizang to spread hope to those living with disabilities.

Li Huan (李欢) is a #Xian-based entrepreneur who is keeping the ancient Tang Dynasty Tangguozi desserts (唐菓子) alive. She offers visitors immersive cultural experiences where they can create handmade #desserts, sample Tang #tea, learn the culture, & of course look the part too!

Hu Lei (胡磊) is an #artist hailing from Wuyishan (武夷山) in SE #China's #Fujian Province. He is a master of the local Wuyi rock pigment #painting technique, crushing the colorful local rocks and soil to form brilliant hues. This is one artist not afraid to get his hands dirty!

Wu Yize (吴宜泽), 22, is a #Chinese snooker pro. Having taken up the #sport at the tender age of 7, he just became the 2nd Chinese player to claim the World #Snooker Championship in London, after Zhao Xintong’s (赵心童) 2025 triumph, as well as the 2nd-youngest winner in history!

Muyassar Ahmattohti (穆耶赛尔·艾合麦提托合提), a graduate of #Xinjiang #Arts University, is a #designer of cultural products using #mulberry paper. At her workshop in #Moyu County, she passes down this national intangible #cultural #heritage with a #history of 1,000+ years.

Zheng Wangchun (郑望春) is the head of the #village committee & secretary of the Party committee of Gulu Village, #Sichuan Province. Also a deputy to the NPC, Zheng has helped connect once-isolated Gulu to the outside world, driving agricultural, cultural & tourism #development.

Jangnur Turganbay (江努日·图日干巴依) is a renowned #Chinese Manaschi, a folk singer of the #Kyrgyz epic “Manas.” Recently designated a national-level representative inheritor of the art, he is passing it down to the next generation, having learned it from his grandpa as a child.

Yin Chengwu (尹成武), 69, is a #guardian of the #Ming Dynasty Guangwu Great Wall (广武明长城). Yin has been patrolling the #Wall here for 47 years, measuring the entire section by hand in the 1980s using only a tape measure and a meter ruler! He’s as resilient as the #GreatWall!

Zhao Yicheng (赵一程), just 16 years of age, is a champion #Chinese rock climber. At the 6th #Asian #Beach Games in #Sanya, south #China's #Hainan, he just shattered the world record in men's speed #climbing with a blistering time of 4.58 seconds, claiming the gold medal to boot!

Zhang Xuecai (张学财), 62, is the sole #ranger on a mountaintop in north #China's Shanxi. Every 2 hours, day and night, he scans the forest through his binoculars for fire risks. A military #veteran, Zhang says he watches over these mountains as he once watched over his barracks.
