On July7-10, Ambassador SHEN Bo led a delegation to attend the 112th EC of the OPCW. The Chinese delegation promoted the Global Governance Initiative, urged Japan to destroy all JACWs as soon as possible and elaborated on hotspot #CW issues.
On July 3, Ambassador SHEN met with H.E. Ms Ann Derwin, Ambassador of the current Presidency of EU and H.E. Mr Markus Leinonen, EU Representative to the International Organisation in The Hague. The two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues and the OPCW work.

On April 17,China submitted its National Report to the 11th NPT Review Conference. This is China's latest voluntary and transparent measures taken to enhance mutual trust and foster a sound atmosphere for the Review Conference.

I. Immediate Cessation of Hostilities: China and Pakistan call for immediate cessation of hostilities and utmost efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading. Humanitarian assistance must be allowed to all war-affected areas.
II. Start of peace talks as soon as possible. Sovereignty, territorial integrity, national independence and security of Iran and the Gulf states should be safeguarded. Dialogue and diplomacy is the only viable option to resolve conflicts. China and Pakistan support the relevant parties in initiating talks, with all parties committing to peaceful resolution of disputes, and refraining from the use or the threat of use of force during peace talks.
III. Security of nonmilitary targets. The principle of protecting civilians in military conflict should be observed. China and Pakistan call on parties to the conflict to immediately stop attacks on civilians and nonmilitary targets, and fully adhere to International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and stop attacking important infrastructure, including energy, desalination and power facilities, and peaceful nuclear infrastructure, such as nuclear power plants.
IV. Security of shipping lanes. The Strait of Hormuz, together with its adjacent waters, is an important global shipping route for goods and energy. China and Pakistan call on the parties to protect the security of ships and crew members stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, allow the early and safe passage of civilian and commercial ships, and restore normal passage through the Strait as soon as possible.
V. Primacy of the United Nations Charter. China and Pakistan call for efforts to practice true multilateralism, to jointly strengthen the primacy of the U.N., and to support the conclusion of an agreement for establishing a comprehensive peace framework and realizing lasting peace based on the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter and international law.
On March 31, Ambassador SHEN met with H.E. Mr Agustín Vásquez Gómez, the Chairperson of the Thirtieth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention, Ambassador of El Salvador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the OPCW.
Ambassador SHEN, Chinese PR to the OPCW, led a delegation to attend OPCW EC-111. China actively promoted the Global Governance Initiative, expressed its firm stance on issue of Japanese ACWs and elaborated on hotspot #CW issues.
On March 5, Ambassador SHEN met with the Chairperson of the OPCW EC Ambassador Mr Thomas Schieb, German PR to the OPCW and H.E. Mr Spyros Attas, Ambassador of the current Presidency of the Council of the EU and H.E. Mr Markus Leinonen, EU Representative to the OPCW.
On March 4, H.E. Mr. SHEN Bo, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands and PR of China to the OPCW, met with H.E. Mr. Vladimir Tarabrin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and PR to the OPCW.
On March 3, Ambassador SHEN, PR of China to the OPCW, met with OPCW Director-General-designate Ambassador Dallafior. The two sides had friendly exchanges on issues such as deepening cooperation between China and the OPCW and jointly promoting solidarity within the OPCW.
On February 12, Ambassador Shen paid a courtesy call on Mr. Jurgens, Director Security Policy of the Netherlands MFA. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern. Ambassador Shen elaborated on China's position on relevant issues.
Both sides agreed that global strategic stability is facing severe challenges. As permanent members of the UN Security Council, China and Russia will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation, firmly support multilateralism, actively uphold the authority and effectiveness of international arms control treaties and mechanisms, and contribute to maintaining global strategic stability and promoting world peace and security.
On February 3, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov co-chaired China-Russia consultation on strategic stability in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on current global strategic stability situation and multilateral arms control issues in an in-depth manner and reached a wide range of consensus.
On January 23, Ambassador SHEN, the newly appointed PR of China to the OPCW, presented his Credentials to DG Arias. The two sides had a friendly exchange on strengthening cooperation between China and the OPCW.
