"It is impossible to talk about gender and race in shows like "Mixed-ish" without involving women of color in every part of the process. In other words, representation is just as important behind-the-scenes as it is on-the-screen(1/2)
Remembering their ancestors at family reunion is a part of the tradition during mid-autumn festival. This year we displayed the seven panels from Chinese Railroad Workers in North America Project at Stanford University https://t.co/LNC7bBQKty.
In conjunction with the exhibition, OCC and CCBA also teamed up to invite two drum teams from both sides of town to do flash mob type of performances in Chinatown. Phoenix again wowed the crowd with her highly energetic CPOP dance.
It was the first such attempt for the community to get together to show off the depth of Chinese traditional and modern arts. The exhibit was well received by the visitors and the activities were highly appraised by the neighborhood residents.
The Full Moon Calligraphy and Photography Exhibit by local Chinese American artists and enthusiasts as part of celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival was successfully held in Chinatown during Sept. 16-19.
The Department of Interior's This Week at Interior! newsletter and video have highlighted Oregon Chinese Coalition's volunteer work day ( beginning at 3:16) and have the four highschoolers to open the video.
Inspired by the success of Asian Heritage Month Art Gallery Exhibit, we want to ride on the momentum by holding Full Moon Calligraphy and Photography Exhibit, again featuring the works of local Chinese Americans, some are professionals and others are the enthusiasts.
"During the whole course, we carried each other, lifted each other, entertained each other. We were braver than we believed, stronger than we seemed, smarter than we thought." -- Pei Zhang, the team Captain.
