When leaders believe in young people, they show up and more importantly, they invest consistently.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s visible support for youth and sports reflects more than symbolic presence; it demonstrates a clear commitment to youth development, talent discovery, and using sports as a pathway to opportunity.
Through ongoing investments in sporting infrastructure, including the remodelling of the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, and sustained support for youth-focused initiatives across the state, Plateau is deliberately creating an enabling environment where talent can be identified, nurtured, and celebrated.
The future belongs to the youth, and Plateau is actively building that future.

CREATING GLOBAL JOB OPPORTUNITIES FROM PLATEAU: THE BUSINESS PROCESS OUTSOURCING (BPO) VISION
One of the most transformative opportunities for economic growth in the digital age is the ability to connect local talent to global markets. For Plateau State, that vision is rapidly becoming a reality.
Speaking on the state's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) initiative, Mr. Manji Wilson, Chief Technical Adviser on Development Partnerships, Strategic Linkages and Diaspora Engagements, revealed how the Mutfwang administration has spent over two years working behind the scenes to build strategic partnerships capable of creating thousands of jobs for Plateau youths.
Through a partnership with Outsource Global and MTN Nigeria, the Plateau State Government is establishing a world-class outsourcing hub that will connect young professionals in the state with employment opportunities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Asia, and other parts of the world.
The initiative goes beyond traditional call-center services. Beneficiaries will have opportunities in information technology, accounting, legal support services, customer relations, and other digital professions, allowing them to earn globally while living and working from Plateau State.
The first phase of the programme has already generated remarkable interest, attracting over 6,000 applications. Following a rigorous multi-stage selection and assessment process, successful participants are being equipped with the skills required to compete in the global digital economy.
The state is targeting an initial workforce of 2,000 young professionals, with plans to scale the initiative to between 10,000 and 50,000 jobs over the coming years.
According to Mr. Wilson, the goal is not only to take Plateau to the world but also to bring the world to Plateau by creating a globally competitive workforce and positioning the state as Nigeria's leading destination for business process outsourcing.
Driven by Governor Caleb Mutfwang's vision, the project represents a bold step toward sustainable job creation, youth empowerment, and long-term economic transformation powered by innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships.
Plateau is building talent. Plateau is creating opportunities. Plateau is connecting its people to the world.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang has described Democracy Day as more than just a public holiday. According to him, it is a time to celebrate the fundamental principles of democracy freedom, justice, accountability, active citizen participation, and the right of people to determine their own future.
He stressed that the occasion serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought for democratic governance, while also highlighting the collective responsibility of both leaders and citizens to safeguard democratic institutions through engagement, transparency, and accountability for the greater good.

For too long, many African economies have remained dependent on exporting raw products while importing finished goods. Our administration is determined to change that narrative. We understand that the difference between poverty and prosperity often lies in the ability to process what we produce. That is why agro-processing and value addition remain central pillars of our economic development strategy
I took another significant step in our journey to reposition Plateau State as a leading agro-industrial and livestock investment destination with the groundbreaking of a 500-cattle-per-day ultra-modern abattoir at Heipang and a Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
These projects, supported by the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Programme, represent strategic investments in the future of our economy. They are designed to strengthen the livestock value chain, improve food safety standards, create sustainable jobs, attract private investment, and expand Plateau’s capacity for meat processing and export.
For me, this is more than the construction of physical infrastructure. It is the laying of a foundation for a new economic future for our people. The ultra-modern abattoir is a critical component of the Heipang Special Agro-Processing Zone, which we have established as a platform for industrial growth, value addition, and wealth creation.
This facility will replace crude and unhygienic slaughter practices with a world-class automated abattoir capable of processing 500 cattle daily the largest of its kind in this region. Beyond improving standards, it will unlock opportunities across the entire livestock ecosystem.
Our vision is simple: every participant in the value chain must benefit. Farmers producing maize and soybeans for animal feed must earn more. Young people involved in livestock transportation must find opportunities. Entrepreneurs operating cold rooms, processors packaging meat products, feed mill operators, leather processors, and countless others must share in the prosperity that this investment will generate.
I am encouraged by the support and cooperation of the host communities, whose commitment has been invaluable to the success of this project. I urge residents to continue working closely with the contractors to ensure timely completion, as we expect these projects to be delivered within the next year.
The endorsement of the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, further reinforces our belief that Plateau State is uniquely positioned to lead Nigeria’s livestock transformation. With our favourable climate, resilient farming communities, strategic transport links, and long-standing excellence in animal health services, Plateau is ready to become a major hub for livestock production and processing.
Our goal is clear: to move Plateau beyond the production of raw agricultural commodities and establish our state as a centre of agro-industrial excellence, economic prosperity, and sustainable job creation.
I recently inspected the ongoing construction of the 61.55-kilometre Dokan Tofa–Ba’ap–Kurqwi Road, including the spur to Lardang–Bwall–Kwoor and Tim Road Section One, as well as additional works on the Jimbam–Dokan Kasuwa Road in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.
Seeing the excitement and enthusiasm of the people, especially the women who turned out in large numbers to welcome us, was both humbling and encouraging. Their support reinforces our commitment to delivering infrastructure that opens up rural communities, improves connectivity, supports agriculture, and drives economic growth.
I am grateful to the people of Qua’an Pan for their steadfast support, trust, and cooperation. These road projects are not just about construction; they are about improving livelihoods, creating opportunities, and ensuring that no community is left behind in our development agenda.
I want to assure residents that these projects will be completed and commissioned as scheduled. Our administration remains focused on delivering quality infrastructure and fulfilling the mandate entrusted to us by the people of Plateau State.
I also encourage community members to continue working closely with contractors and government officials to ensure the smooth and timely completion of these projects. Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous Plateau for all.
Three years ago, you entrusted us with a mandate to restore hope, rebuild trust, and renew Plateau State.
Today, while challenges remain, we can point to meaningful progress: stronger security coordination, improved workers’ welfare, expanded revenue generation, investments in agriculture, mining, tourism, healthcare, education, and infrastructure, and renewed opportunities for our young people.
Democracy is not merely about elections; it is about service, accountability, and the collective determination to build a better future. Every step we have taken has been guided by the belief that Plateau can be peaceful, prosperous, and united.
I remain grateful for your trust and unwavering support. Together, we will continue the work of building a Plateau where every citizen can thrive.
The journey continues. The future is bright. The time is now.
"DEMOCRACY MAY NOT BE PERFECT BUT IT REMAINS OUR BEST PATH TO PROGRESS, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT…”
Speaking during his opening remarks at the Town Hall Meeting held yesterday at Crispan Hotel, Jos, Governor Caleb Mutfwang reflected on the significance of Democracy Day, the challenges of governance, and his administration's commitment to delivering meaningful change for the people of Plateau State.
The Governor acknowledged that while democracy has not fully delivered all the dividends citizens desire, it continues to provide the platform for participation, accountability, and leadership by the people. He highlighted ongoing interventions across agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, and social services, emphasizing that his administration has remained focused on improving the lives of Plateau citizens.
Governor Mutfwang noted that the security challenges confronting the state are deeply rooted and have evolved over decades, requiring persistence, collaboration, and strategic action. He assured residents that government continues to make progress, with recent critical arrests and security breakthroughs reinforcing efforts to restore lasting peace across Plateau.
Welcoming feedback from citizens, the Governor stressed that constructive criticism remains an essential part of governance.
"Genuine criticisms are welcome because the Governor does not know it all. Whenever people raise concerns, we ask questions, seek answers, and where necessary, take action."
He further highlighted key achievements of his administration, including the 50% reduction of tuition fees across state-owned tertiary institutions, a more than 300% increase in student allowances, sponsorship opportunities for young people in specialized fields such as aviation, and government interventions that have assisted citizens facing critical medical conditions and healthcare emergencies.
Reaffirming his commitment to the people, Governor Mutfwang stated that his administration would continue working tirelessly to fulfill its promises and meet the expectations entrusted to it by the citizens of Plateau State.
"I made a commitment to God and to the people of Plateau State that I will leave Plateau State better than I met it. By the grace of God, we will not disappoint you."
The Governor expressed appreciation to Plateau citizens for their continued support, prayers, engagement, and dedication to building a stronger, more prosperous state.
All of you that insulted me that day, I no see any of una for the Town Hall meeting to ask the Governor those same questions wey una dey ask me for timeline.
So na keyboard warriors una be after all?
During today’s Town Hall Meeting, Governor Mutfwang mentioned that the state received about ₦10 billion, with over ₦6 billion spent on salaries, pensions, and gratuities.
That statement really put things into perspective for me. When you consider that the remaining funds still had to cover education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, and other critical sectors, it becomes clear just how much of the state’s resources go into sustaining the civil service.
Plateau is truly a civil servant state.

BREAKING: The House of Representatives has passed constitutional amendments to establish state police in Nigeria and has postponed other constitutional amendments to another legislative session.
Under the leadership of His Excellency, the state has recorded significant investments in strengthening the healthcare system, particularly in nutrition, infrastructure, and human resources.
Over the past three years, the administration has consistently provided counterpart funding exceeding ₦500 million annually for nutrition interventions, a commitment further matched by UNICEF, bringing total yearly nutrition investment to about ₦1 billion. This sustained support has played a key role in reducing malnutrition among children across communities.

The administration has also made a major investment in healthcare personnel, with the recruitment of over 1,000 health workers for primary healthcare centres and an additional 150 staff for general hospitals under the Hospitals Management Board, significantly strengthening service delivery across the system.
These interventions reflect an ongoing commitment to upgrading all primary healthcare facilities and improving emergency response and quality healthcare delivery across the state.

Mutfwang brought in metro buses/train.
He introduced drones and other security technologies to strengthen the security architecture of Plateau State. He provided a water tank for the people of Tudun Wada, who had struggled with water shortages for years. There are also ongoing road construction projects across several communities in the state.
So, with all these accomplishments achieved in less than three years and despite the huge debt inherited from Lalong are you really saying these are not achievements? Mutfwang supporters kindly list some that I skipped.
