#CPD data show #Chicago in May had 36 #murders. If the figure holds, it’ll be two fewer than May 2025 (38) and the lowest May total since 2007 (34). Year to date, murders are up slightly (5.7%) from 2025. That year ended with the city’s lowest murder count in six decades.

CONTEXT: The money is stunning compared to 2022, the last time Chicago-area Dems vied in U.S. House primaries with no incumbent. In that election cycle, Jonathan Jackson benefited from $1.1 million in super PAC support. Delia Ramirez got a $1.5 million boost. Both won.
