It's all about malignant sexual predators weaponising religion for power and control. The Catholic Church has the confessional that bypasses the state. All is forgiven in the confessional. My mother before she died confessed to committing adultery for years with my pedophile uncle after my father died when I was 8 years. All was forgiven for her but the CSA was hidden and I became the scapegoat because I later exposed.

I'm not sure if you have a choice if you are like me and the family scapegoat. The family just become an angry lynch mob so you instinctively develop survival skills and rewriting the family narrative is all par for the course. It's therapeutic cathartic to tell the truth. Good for the soul.
It's also a kind of toughness you develop and I sometimes even surprise myself. I see you as having that toughness that confidence because you know what lowlife creeps these predators are. I mean they really have no worth just human douche bags. As far as these lowlife violent sadistic parasitic ex-husbands go who for example prey on their adult children to do their dirty work, yes let's expose them. Let everyone know what cowards they are, the way they hide behind others the way they manipulate and lie and smear. They have zero morals and no accountability. Let's make them accountable every opportunity there is.

If only the therapeutic community were aware how easily these narcissistic con artists manipulate the system. The therapist is perhaps the easiest target to manipulate of all. The therapist always taking a neutral position as though it's a level playing field and the abuser normal. Not recognising the politics the power the control the sadism the darkness.
There is no safe space for the scapegoat as silencing is par for the course. The scapegoat routinely blamed for their distress. The onus on the scapegoat never the clever con artist who knows how to manipulate the therapist who may even already have an overinflated sense of self. Especially given the control the therapist has to call the shots label, assess etc. The whole system is a playground for the psychopath. There just isn't the awareness out there except small pockets like here. Let's hope things start to change with more education discussion.

I do believe that psychopathy can happen at a collective level as in a cult where the cult leader is raping the children of his followers. For example William Kamm who referred to himself as The Little Pebble and who stood 4' 9" tall. He was eventually incarcerated/now released back into the community but still has followers. My mother was one of his followers.
I do think that malignant predators who come from a privileged background are better resourced and protected from being caught. And perhaps this is the worst kind as they can more easily blend into the greedy individualist capitalist landscape.

Narcissists and psychopaths develop an unhealthy fixation and obsession with people who they can't control, people who are unpredictable, people who surpass them, people who stand up to them, and people who evoke their envy. This happens with domestic violence all the time. It is primarily men and their sense of entitlement and misogyny towards women that is behind the abuse. The power and control exerted is now known as coercive control. The problem is that most social workers and psychologists have no idea what coercive control is. They routinely reduce the victims of domestic violence to being enabling and codependent. It is putting the onus on the victim that if they don't get an AVO then they are enabling when in fact it is often about survival. These psychopaths are just so dangerous and more often than not an AVO increases the danger. The AVO is no guarantee of safety.
