- More than 1 crore & 20 lack kids in Punjab remain out of school. Because Punjab govt does not have few thousand to spend on their Education
- More than 37% of kids under age of 5 in Punjab are stunted. Means not normal. Because government does not have few thousand to spend on basic health for these poor people.
- Close to 5 crore people in Punjab live below poverty line - means can’t afford 2 meals a day. And More people are being pushed below poverty line every single minute.
- more than 75 lac people are unemployed in Punjab.
Economy is in the dumps. Factories are closing across Punjab.
Yet the Punjab government can proudly and most arrogantly stand up and justify the purchase of a plane costing 11 billion rupees (after it initially blatantly lied that its purchased for Punjab Air )

The news of the passing of my respected teacher, Moulana Sayed Salman Hussaini Nadwi (RH), came as a great shock to me today.

He was among the personalities who played a significant role in shaping my intellectual journey during my years at Nadwatul Ulama. I remain grateful for the knowledge and guidance I benefited from through him.

One of the last pieces of advice he gave me, after my debate with Javed Akhtar, has remained with me ever since. He said:

“My dear Shamail Nadwi, immerse yourself in the Qur’an, continue studying the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and delve deeply into the Seerah. Then Allah will grant you such ability that no one can even imagine.”

Like every scholar, his views should be judged in the light of the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the understanding of Ahlus Sunnah. Our principle remains that the truth is above any individual. We accept whatever is in accordance with the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and we leave whatever is not. Yet this does not prevent us from acknowledging the good we received from our teachers and praying for them.

May Allah forgive him, overlook his shortcomings, have mercy upon him, and grant patience to his family, students, and loved ones.

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
