#BRGIE PM SIMON EKPA ISSUES A RESOUNDING PUBLIC STATEMENT
THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT"
IM VERY CONFINDENT THAT THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT."
THEY WILL KNOW THAT THEY HAVE THE WRONG PERSON IN PRISON"
NIGERIA IS THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE KILLINGS OF MY PEOPLE AND THEY SHOULD.
FINLAND OFFERS UP NIGERIA’S IGBO AND CHRISTIANS AS HUMAN SACRIFICES FOR WINDFALL RESULTING FROM RARE EARTH MATERIAL EXTRACTION.
Understand the background regarding the protest below, wherein supporters of Simon Ekpa, Biafran leader in exile, call for his release.
On September 1, 2025 a Finnish court sentenced Simon Ekpa, pro-Biafra separatist leader to six years in prison for terrorism offenses. Ekpa has, for years, condemned the Nigerian security forces and accused the Nigerian government of institutional enabling of violence against local Christian and Igbo populations.
An estimated 500,000 to over 3 million people (primarily Igbo and Christian civilians) have been killed since 1966, while over 5 million have been displaced due to the 1967–1970 Biafran War and subsequent religious conflicts.
The violence spans decades:
Violence against Igbo and Christian populations in Nigeria is rooted in historical, ethnic, and religious tensions, highlighted by the 1966 Anti-Igbo Pogroms, the 1967–1970 Biafran War, and modern insurgencies by groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP.
●The 1966 Pogroms and Civil War
May and September 1966: Systematic riots and massacres in northern Nigeria killed an estimated 8,000 to 30,000 Igbo people, prompting over a million easterners to flee.
●1967–1970 Biafran War: The secession of the largely Igbo Eastern Region as the Republic of Biafra led to a civil war resulting in severe casualties and blockades.
●Post-Military Rule and Sharia Conflict- 1999 Sharia Implementation: Twelve northern states adopted Islamic Sharia law, heightening legal and social friction for Christian minorities.
●2000–2006 Riots: Religious clashes over Sharia, the Miss World pageant, and cartoons resulted in thousands of deaths across northern and central cities.
●Boko Haram and ISWAP (2009–Present):
Islamist insurgencies have targeted churches, Christian clergy, and communities in the north and middle belt.
●Farmer-Herder Clashes: Competition for land between predominantly Muslim Fulani herders and Christian farmers has driven ongoing localized violence and displacement.
Ekpa and others were detained in November 2024. He was tried and sentenced to six years in prison.
NIGERIA IS HOME TO A WEALTH OF RARE EARTH MINERALS
Nigeria sits on immense, newly verified deposits of critical materials, while Finland holds massive global leverage in mining technology and processing infrastructure. However, the windfall for Finland would not come from traditional raw ore extraction. Instead, it would be driven by the export of technology, local processing ventures, and securing supply chains.
Finland, alongside Sweden, controls roughly 80% of the world's underground mining technology. Nigeria has newly discovered "world-class" polymetallic mineral provinces (containing high-grade lithium, platinum group metals, nickel, and rare earth elements), but its domestic mining sector is heavily under-industrialized.
A partnership would open massive, multi-million dollar procurement pipelines for Finnish engineering giants (like Metso or Sandvik) to supply highly advanced, automated, and sustainable extraction machinery.
