@AbsoluteCinEva You say this as if "Pokemon needs to make games that are more mature" isn't the most boomer/millennial nostalgia ridden manchild take ever. Their actual target demographic, children, are happy with what's being made now.
@miku39420@autumnoraki_ A self-insert is when the author creates a character to essentially make themself part of the story usually as a form of wish-fulfillment
The other is when you as the audience are meant to put yourself in the shoes of the character and play/watch their role as if it was you
@EvilCirno@Willibab89 Many people think this and it's always 100% of the time actually just them tricking themselves into believing their opinions are fact. I'd love to hear an example of what you think an objective criticism is.
@frogpitgaming@Willibab89 Comparing games to the health value of fast food is a bit of apples and oranges, too, since games are more akin to taste. Sure you can quantify whether or not eating Big Mac call the time is healthy. But can you objectively quantify whether or not Big Macs taste good?
@frogpitgaming@Willibab89 "repetitive and unrewarding" is absolutely subjective, though. for someone who enjoys that type of gameplay loop, it's not repetitive. for someone that continues cto get enjoyment, it's not unrewarding. You are taking you cross the line into objectivity.
@frogpitgaming@Willibab89 If every weapon performed equally against everything, you would not be under the impression that *each weapon counters a specific enemy weapon and is noticeably better when finding against it" is an integral part of the game. The goals of the game would be different.
@t2neZu And I'll preface this saying I've little experience in YGO but I don't see how this is a brainfuck at all. This feels like a very simple implementation of the rule
@t2neZu My take on this would be: if you fail to find a ritual spell to add to your hand, there are no monsters listed, so you don't get to add any monsters to your hand either. If you add a ritual you can still fail to find an appropriate monster from your deck.
@moonmin_03 Tbf many games talk about the idea of "chaining skills together" so I think it's reasonable for people that haven't played XI to not immediately understand that "skillchain" is the specific name of a mechanic. Although the rest also still makes it clear that this isn't about XIV
@justfollowingsr@jifour98_ If JoJo aired seasonally like this from the start nobody would care, but it's substantially worse than the way any other anime handles multiple seasons and parts 1-5 all aired weekly with minimal delays. It's frustrating that the release schedule have gotten worse for no reason.
@jifour98_ It's a reasonable assumption given they're talking about Stages in the same way the manga does. It's clear they plan to segment it, or they'd just say the remainder will start airing weekly, rather than specifying stage 2.
@Gamer_Girl_Nowa@StrelitziaVA Except that nearly every time this kind of discourse pops up, including this time, it's a response to people from other TCGs harping on MTG.
