Extremely grateful for the opportunity by the @expo team to let me guest author a blog, showcasing all the cool engineering I did behind the Mobile App for the Minecraft Speedrunning community.
Go give it a read!

They also use App Integrity to help ensure only real installs can call the API.

@betomoedano@expo And beto's vouch to add to it, so you know I am dedicated to my craft. ๐ซก
Would love to help join contribute towards some teams in the Expo & React Native space. Please reach out!

๐ข If your team is hiring React Native / Expo devs, this one's worth a look ๐
@ChitrakshTarun just wrapped up his CS degree and already builds like a senior. He's active in the React Native community, has contributed to @expo, and even to some of my open source projects like QuickPush.
Full-stack, strong in RN + Expo, based in New Delhi and open to remote.
Go give him a follow and reach out. Talented and genuinely passionate about this stuff.

"v56 will bring it to Android too." This will be super hype to have these native APIs which support both the mobile platforms.
My favourite part of new Expo releases is when I can just uninstall other packages because core @expo sdk handles everything.
React Native hasn't really felt native for a long time โ Expo Router changes that.
No pkg-spaghetti, just sensible defaults and carefully designed components.
Expo Router v55 (aka v7) brings almost everything I've ever wanted to React Native, v56 will bring it to Android too.
Introducing QuickPush 2.0 ๐
A lightweight macOS menu bar utility for testing and debugging push notifications and Live Activities
โ Expo Notifications
โ Live Activities support (start, update, end)
โ Native APNs support
โ FCM support
โ Save & reuse tokens
โ Copy cURL commands
โ View response JSON - APNs/FCM/Expo responses
โ New keyboard shortcuts
โ Check receipts
โ Open Source
Used QuickPush extensively when building notifications myself.
For how simple the tool is, it is impressively helpful for all things testing notifications. No brainer if you're working with notifications to use this.
@betomoedano@expo Used so many of your tutorials and guides to build stuff in my own Expo apps, can't state enough how resourceful your content on the Expo channel has been. Excited to see what you'll be cooking next! ๐
@betomoedano ๐ Material Icon support is sick. Would this have parity, where a single <SymbolView name={โฆ} /> would just work on iOS and Android both, or platform specific primitives similar to the Colors API?
Meet Apple Creator Studio: givingย creators of every kind easy access to powerful, intuitive tools for video, music, imaging, and productivity, all supercharged by intelligent features that speed up and elevate their work.
And of course, this app would not be possible without the amazing work of PaceMan developers and developers in the Minecraft Speedrunning community making the supporting tools. The Minecraft Speedrunning community is filled with goated devs and creators ๐

Much more was done in 2025.
Joined a really cool workplace building music and fandom tech, continuing to work there. Got in a pretty happy place with my degree's progress. Published something cool for the MCSR community again.
Job's still not done time for much more in 2026.
Started this year new to mobile development and discovered React Native, just nerding and figuring it out.
Ended the year with a completed internship as a React Native Dev, and pushed my first app to the App Store (Play Store soon).

@Baconbrix ๐ okay this is cool.
Would the Color import also be extending iOS native colors similar to the PlatformColor API? Or is this Android only for now?
