Update: 14% is actually a really good result for both groups, considering how tough that AFM exam was. I believe passing % will stay around that number, and cutting down from 3 to 2 attempts will eventually help control how many CAs are available in the industry.

May 26's passing percentage will mostly clarify the ICAI's intent regarding the number of CAs passing every year. I remember May 24 was one of the easiest CA final exams, and after that, until Jan 26, we didn't see any jawbreaker papers.
