I’m creating a conspiracy theory.
POV. They keep you waiting in the hospital so that you spend more on the car park.
Got to repay those covid expenses somehow I suppose 🙂
I don’t know what’s happened to me this year- every morning I’m 30 mins on the treadmill in @VIVOBAREFOOT compared with last years “I love running in the dark” with my Provis coat!
@sam_bales Hi Sam! 90% ewe lambs and a handful of ewes who didn’t get pregnant in May. Usually cope with drought; rooting depths of cover crops don’t normally let us down! A lot to be said for ewelambs still growing + growing a lamb though!
September group was easy enough, but the December girls were hard work. Poor nutrition (drought summer and heavy October rain) meant these lasses weren’t in the best nick come lambing. Thankfully, scanned 112% so few twins to worry about!
We managed to adapt the few twins onto the few over weight ewes, giving the lower BCS ewe lambs a better chance with rearing only one babe.
Forage has been tough this winter; even though we drilled in July after wheat, no rain until October didn’t give the best start!
I’m not very good at regular posting on social media 🤭. Update- We lambed 200 Dorset’s in September and a further 100 Dorset ewe-lambs in December ; with only 4 pet lambs on the books 😅 #sheep365#polldorsets#winterlambing
I witnessed a CWD savaged by Italian greyhound on my afternoon dog walk. I had to chase it off, before it turned on my Labrador! I Forced to put the deer down, poor thing. Confronted the owner, he couldn’t have cared less. I’ll be livid and unstoppable if the dog has a lamb!
