I am going to take a wild guess here.

When you were very, very young, your mommy and daddy never read picture books to you. They never let you see short video clips designed to teach life, strength, responsibility, or morality.

Or, maybe you are far too young to know the history of visual storytelling. Maybe that is why you are part of the “AI Police,” those that have a self-serving need to a police the internet for AI content and point it out, as if no one else is capable of doing so.

You know, I just want to laugh, cry, be shocked, be amazed at technique, reminisce, be inspired, and enjoy creativity. What I do not want is self-appointed “AI Police” chest thumpers, pointing out every AI-created post, as if it matters for the reasons I like them. So please, stay out of feeds with that puerile, nescient nonsense.

(This guess is me being nice.😉👍🏾)

We lost another legend today 😔

Susan Saint James, the Emmy-winning actress beloved for Kate & Allie and McMillan & Wife, has died at 80.

There was something refreshingly natural about Saint James on screen. Whether she was playing a free-spirited single mother, the clever wife of a police commissioner or stepping into a dramatic guest role, she brought an easy warmth and independence that made her characters feel like people you actually knew.

Her career connected generations of television viewers, from the prestige dramas of the late 1960s and the mystery shows of the ’70s to one of the defining sitcoms of the ’80s.

Some of her most popular roles:
• Kate McArdle — Kate & Allie
• Sally McMillan — McMillan & Wife
• Peggy Maxwell — The Name of the Game
• Cindy Sondheim — Love at First Bite
• Aggie O'Shea — MAS*H
• Vivian Whitney — Carbon Copy
• Jane — How to Beat the High Cost of Living
• Tina Waters — Outlaw Blues
• Joy McAfferty — Suits
• Monica Bradshaw — Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Saint James eventually stepped away from Hollywood’s constant spotlight, but the characters remained.

For generations who grew up watching her, she wasn't simply another familiar television face. She was part of what home felt like when the television came on.

Rest in peace, Susan Saint James.

Susan Saint James, the Emmy-winning actress who starred opposite Rock Hudson in “McMillan & Wife” and Jane Curtin in the CBS sitcom “Kate & Allie,” died Monday at 80 years old after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Saint James’ family described her as someone “generous with her time and energy, which she valued more than money, and instinctively drawn to whoever needed lifting up. She taught her children to pause, be kind and look out for other people. She never met a stranger. Every person she met became the most important person in the room at that moment, from a fellow board member to the clerk at the shoe store, who usually walked away knowing her entire life story.” (via People)
