Ladies and gentleman, the first day of fall🍁🍂🦃🍎🥘
In matters of injustice children pretty much *always* get the short end of the stick.
There are very few cases where we can follow injustice and not see the children as ultimate victims. So many modern experiments have ended in children being the guinea pigs. Public ed. Birth control pills. 19th Amendment.
This is why it’s so important that as Christians we recover the understanding that justice starts in the home where children are given what they’re owed: justice. Good dinners. Storybooks. Clean laundry. Hugs and prayers.
And what it means right this second is confessing and repenting of your sins, big and little, to the Lord and towards your children, privately and even publically if needed. We can’t change the world. But, with the grace of God, we can change our attitudes and our families.
I don’t know how many people realize this since we are so removed from the average person having basic art literacy, but there is more to neutral colors than grey, black, and stark white. Even off whites are better than bright whites. Almost any color has a neutral tone to it. When picking new colors and pieces for your house don’t panic and default to gray. If you’re scared of things not being cohesive, then pick a muted, neutral version of the color you like. Is cobalt too bold? Then go for a dusty blue. Swiss coffee white too white? Try something like strand of pearls.
The number one problem facing America today? Obviously it’s college educated women.
Ok, maybe not number one. But it’s on the list.
My answer? “This One’s for the Darkness,” now streaming everywhere!
Headcovering in worship was an historic church practice across virtually every denomination until feminism in the 20th century.
Many today dunk on it…just as Betty Friedan did in the 1960s.
If you don’t have a sugared, up watermelon juice covered toddler wearing red, (some shade that used to be white) and blue, living their best feral life this weekend running around, what are you doing…?😂
My friend took one teaspoon of castor oil then began labor a few hours later and delivered her baby in two hours. The same thing happened with her second baby. Google and doctors will tell you this is “dangerous” as if pitocin is not?!?! 🤔 I wish I had known about this. Four babies and four 24 hour labors.
Mothers have to come to terms with the simplicity of their job description, instead of living in denial/rebellion🤪.
With only one or two little ones, you can sometimes live in a fantasy that side hustling or “other interests” are possible, because there is a little bandwidth and even discretionary time.
But anyone who has had or watched someone have twins knows that there is no denying that you are there to just nourish and comfort and clothe all day long.
You just sit in the corner and breastfeed and you’d be an idiot to be attempting more than that.
And then when you are over 4 kids you are just doing food prep and laundry and reading to kids on repeat! JOYFULLY.
Discontent comes from a poor job description where you feel like you are not achieving what you should be. You aren’t for other things ❤️ You don’t have better things to do ❤️
Take me to small town on the plains,
and generations buried there
Where voices join in mingled strains
on Sundays in the church
And after service, suppertime,
take me to hearth and home
By God, we’ll have our home again
By God, we’ll have our home
@Brian_Sauve ‘s really hitting us homemakers hard with a whole new album drop (including a song to fix women) AND a new Bright Hearth episode about how to actually submit to your husband.
Well, this will be one sanctification roller coaster of a Monday…😂
My brand new album, "Long Days, Short Years," is now streaming everywhere!
I wrote these songs to help you cherish the glories God has woven into every one of your days—because they won't ever come again.
I hope you love it as much as I have loved making it.
This ideal childhood scene is brought to you by the Patriarchy.
Protecting what’s worth protecting since the beginning of time. Like order, beauty, the joy of childhood, etc.
Inside of me there are two wolves:
One wants to eat high protein, low sugar and have proactive health while I’m young
The other wants to eat ice cream every night and soak up my young 20s metabolism
my inner health nut is never more at war with myself than when I am like this
Put off ruminating. Put on thanksgiving.
“For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his heart.”
