What’s the importance of a lysosome anyway? If it breaks or leaks, enzymes aren’t very active. It’s like putting an explosive in a cell. #trash@murphyapbio
I am not apart of the endomembrane system since I don’t interact with the plasma membrane. But I am more individual and unique since I contain my own DNA, ribosomes, and have a double membrane, so I don’t need to be apart of the endomembrane system. #toocoolforyou@murphyapbio
@powerthehouse@murphyapbio Considering animals need oxygen and energy from consuming plants, I'd say animals NEED plants to survive... Since chloroplasts are the main reason plants are alive through photosynthesis, I am more important!! #plantsvsanimals#greenpower
I also am unique. I used to be my own prokaryotic cell before being swallowed up by a eukaryotic cell; therefore, I have my own double membrane and can reproduce my own DNA. I know Endoplasmic Reticulum can’t relate because they’re just a network of tubes.. @murphyapbio

First, our proteins are synthesized on cytosolic ribosomes and then imported to chloroplasts as peptide chains. The transit peptides transports our proteins for us across our complex membrane to our stroma and later our proteins can be sorted. @murphyapbio
My structure is my power! I have thylakoids that carry out the reactions of light in photosynthesis. Chemical changes occur in my stroma. Chlorophyll is my light-absorbing pigment that generates the green color of plants, so without me it would be a #colorlessworld@murphyapbio
We are present in many photosynthesizing organisms such as plant cells, eukaryotic algae, and protists. Although animals don’t have chloroplasts, they rely on plants since I control photosynthesis and consume the sugars I produce. #GOAT@murphyapbio
Mitochondria and I both function to generate metabolic energy, evolved during endosymbiosis, contain our own DNA, and replicate by division. BUT I'm better since I perform more important tasks like generating ATP. Plant can't live without me! #therealpowerhouse@murphyapbio
I am unarguably the most important part of the plant cell because I am the specific site for photosynthesis, AKA what plants need to survive. I absorb light energy and produce ATP and NADPH to create organic molecules used by other organelles. #H2Osplit@murphyapbio
